A year ago today in Mérida, we kicked off what will forever be our favorite weekend of our lives, in my favorite city in the world. A cenote adventure during the day, followed by a beautiful and FUN evening surrounded by our loved ones. Family and friends all together, stories shared, and my dad singing like he always does. I remember every detail leading up to this weekend as if it were yesterday… especially the excitement of wearing this dress, which incorporated 65yr old crocheted pieces from my grandmother, Hortencia (Nana Tencha). She helped raise me and passed away in 2004, and having her woven into that moment meant everything. Our wedding was the highlight, but this night was a very close second. 🤍🥹😭

Five months ago today, at 9:30pm on a random Friday, we made it official in Vegas with Elvis and a few friends. 🔒🤍🕺

Two weeks before our wedding in Mexico, I realized the paperwork to get legally married there would take too long — so a quick trip to Vegas sounded way more fun (and way less stressful). 😬 Two days later, Elvis married us.

June 🎢🤍🌻 June humbled me in ways I never expected.

The first half of my pregnancy felt so smooth that I naively thought the hard part might skip me. Then, almost overnight, everything changed. Since my 20 week scan I learned I had placenta previa, had three bleeding scares, was put on strict bed rest, and later found out I also had a subchorionic hematoma. Then Braxton Hicks and round ligament pain joined the party too. 😅 Pregnancy has reminded me just how quickly life can shift and how much of it is out of our control… especially for someone like me who loves being on the go and having a plan.

The last few weeks have stretched me emotionally, but they’ve also given me a new perspective. Every day I get to keep our baby girl safe is a good day. I’m learning to trade plans for presence, movement for stillness, and fear for gratitude… one day at a time. Also... women are AMAZING.

I’m also endlessly grateful for my village. Every visit, call, text, meal, and prayer has carried me more than you’ll ever know. 🙏

And because I had never even heard of placenta previa before this, and honestly didn’t know just how much can come with pregnancy, I wanted to share a little of my journey. It's scary when everything is foreign to you and your body. Pregnancy is such an incredible gift, but it can also be unpredictable. My heart is with every woman walking her own path to motherhood, whatever that path may look like. 🤍
