Finally, after almost 2 decades, it's over and done with. TW:blood.

In 2005, I cracked a tooth on an "outward bound" camping trip with my school. The chip went under a metal filling. I spent around 10 years not knowing the extent of the damage until I finally got dental coverage. They pulled the filling, and cleaned out the hole left from the decaying. They never put anything to fill it back up. They left me with nothing but pain. It took a long time for me to trust a dentist again.

The tooth had been cracking and chipping away until one day, I felt a huge chunk when I was brushing my teeth. The whole crown came off. I knew I couldn't manage this myself and looked for a better dentist 19 years after the original incident, the students at the NYU College of Dentistry removed the remnants of the tooth.

Took maybe 20 minutes for the full extraction, because the roots were still very healthy and did not want to give up the fight. Now, I can heal and the minimal pain I feel now was nothing compared to the pain of that tooth. They even let me keep it. I wanted a reminder for me that oral health is very important. And not to keep some fears. I was so scared in the chair and they had a much better bedside manner than most other dentists I've seen. by @vamppirre

On a day where I didn't even want to go outside, I happened to see a street fair going on across from my building. I went to check it out with a friend and saw cookies. I tried a sample and my day got a little brighter. I followed them on Instagram and asked if they would be available on Wednesday, when I got paid, so I could get a box. I was blessed by these two beautiful, kind souls. And I feel blessed to have met them. My day went on a complete 180 from there. The cookies were delicious and perfectly crumbly without being dry. Quite honestly, they might be the best cookies I've ever tried. taken in Bronx, NY by @vamppirre
