Menu spotlight: Amala, Gbegiri and Ewedu

This gluten free dish is served with assorted meat and is only available on weekends!

✨Amala: A dark brown swallow made from dried yam flour cassava, or plantain flour.
✨Ewedu: A green soup prepared from finely mashed jute mallow leaves, often seasoned with crayfish and locust beans

I was reminded recently that we really don’t know how much time we have left in our hourglass of life.

My sister reminded me of that while she was literally on her hospital bed.

And honestly… where is the content? 😂

I’ve had this Vibe Check sitting in my hard drive for WEEKS, so I figured it was time to run it back and remind y’all that I actually do this.

Lately, I’ve been lowkey over sitting at my desk for hours editing never-ending projects. I love creating for people, but somewhere along the way, I realized I missed creating just because it was fun.

That’s really where Vibe Check was born.

A reason to get outside. Try new things. Connect with myself, my friends, and my city. Take on random side quests and document the experience along the way.

And honestly, I’ve missed it.

So we’re back.

Today’s side quest took me to Vansuya, a local Nigerian-owned restaurant, where I had Nigerian food for the first time… which is actually wild considering how often people ask me if I’m Nigerian 😂

The food was amazing, the experience was even better, and it was a reminder that sometimes you just need to get out of your routine and go experience something new.

Also… excuse the audio. Your boy is rusty 😂

Vibe Check is officially back.
