October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month! 💼

A time to honor the contributions of workers with disabilities and recommit to building workplaces where everyone belongs.

At Vancro, we see every day that access opens doors. When communication is accessible and inclusion is built in from the start, Deaf, DeafBlind, and disabled professionals can bring their full skills, insight, and leadership to the table, and entire teams grow stronger because of it.

We're proud to champion accessible and inclusive workplaces this month and all year long.

As Deaf Awareness Month comes to a close, we're reflecting on what it means: celebrating Deaf culture, honoring ASL, and centering Deaf and DeafBlind voices. 💙

Communication access should never be an afterthought, in classrooms, hospitals, workplaces, or communities.

September may be ending, but our commitment isn't. Let's keep showing up for the Deaf community every month, not just this one. 👉

🌍 Today, September 27th, is World Deaf Day!

This year's theme for International Week of Deaf People, "Declaring Deaf People's Human Rights," reminds us that access to national sign languages isn't a courtesy, it's a right. Today we celebrate Deaf culture and the achievements of Deaf communities worldwide, while recognizing that many Deaf people still face barriers to education, healthcare, employment, and public services.

Today is International Day of Sign Languages! 🌎

Sign languages are complete languages with their own grammar, culture, and history. Recognizing them means protecting Deaf people's right to learn, work, and live fully in their own language. And access to them is a human right.

Proud to work alongside the Deaf and DeafBlind community today and every day. 💙

Image description: A graphic with the Vancro Integrated Interpreting Services logo at the top. Text reads: "International Day of Sign Languages, September 23, 2026." The text sits on a translucent white panel over a black-and-white photo of many hands. The hands are raised with palms open and fingers spread, and they form a circle around a blue-gray globe.

It's International Week of Deaf People!

This week it's more than just awareness, it's about Deaf language, culture, and voices. Access isn't just giving Deaf people a seat at the table, it's including them in the conversation from the start.

Did you know? The Deaf flag was designed by French Deafblind artist Arnaud Balard and officially adopted by the World Federation of the Deaf in 2023. The hands represent the signing Deaf community and Sign language. The infinite fingers allude to the projection of the use of Sign language in the world. Turquoise represents the deaf community and Sign Language, pride and unity. Yellow symbolizes light, life, the awakened mind, coexistence. And the dark blue symbolizes planet Earth, humanity, and is the color adopted to represent deafness.

Here's to Deaf voices being heard and seen all year, not just this week.
