1 & 2 Amazing experience swimming in bioluminescence - so good I had to go back again another evening. Just magical, swimming in the dark seeing little stars come alive when you move in the water. Incredible!
2. The pool where I did Water Aerobics!
3 An agouti - these guys are in the wild on Grand Cayman but this lil fella called 'Lil Bit' was a rescued orphan at #caymanparrotsanctuary also featured in 4, 5 and 6
7. The delightful #sweetdreamscaymanbakery
8. Ibis I fed at #caymanturtlecentre thanks to the staff there for taking care of me
9. Hungry turtles in the breeding pool!
10. My lovely stingray friend 😁 by @vanessaactmcauley

THEN I WENT TO THE CAYMAN ISLANDS!!! Grand Cayman specifically.
And it was amazing. My first solo holiday produced by searching for 'somewhere I can swim with stingrays' and 'destinations safe for a solo female traveller.' I swam with stingrays (even kissed one - 7 years good luck don't you know?!) Nurse sharks, green turtles and loads of tropical fish - I was in the sea every day snorkelling. I met some wonderful people - thank you @peetsails for helping me find the turtles and eating cake with me! Ace at #caymancrystalcaves has transitioned from a wonderful tour guide to a life long friend and I will be eternally grateful to her and her wonderful family for the warmth and hospitality they extended. The incredible posse at the Reef Resort where I stayed especially @collectivecreations2025 - I'm so glad I met you and have had so many invitations to the US - that will be one of my upcoming adventures!
Highlights: karaoke, bingo, mudslides, lobster, cassave cake, picking and eating a guava from the tree in the garden by my air bnb for breakfast, finding the #sweetdreams bakery in Savannah (multiple trips there - possibly the best cinnamon buns on the planet!) swimming in bioluminescence (separate post to follow!) Sunset swim at Spotts beach with Zhaya, Hayley and Kirra, lunch in the rainforest at the Cayman crystal caves, making jewellery and tie-dyeing one of my t shirts. I can highly recommend solo travel and Grand Cayman as a beautiful destination. 🙏🌴🥥🐠🌞 by @vanessaactmcauley

A few weeks ago I found myself unexpectedly and utterly heart broken in a way I've never experienced before. One of my closest friends asked me, quite flippantly, if I fancied joining her in Spain for a couple of nights, the fates aligned, I said yes and it turned in to the most amazing, healing, soul-nourishing adventure. It was the first of what I hope to be many getaways on this healing journey (yes I said it!) I rocked up with no planned accomodation and managed to get a wonderful air bnb complete with hammock at very short notice. There was a festival unfolding the week we visited meaning we were treated to Romans walking past us in the street at every turn and an incredible show one night at the #estadiocartagonova like nothing I have ever seen before. We of course ate gorgeous food, squeezed in a boat trip and some sight-seeing and met some lovely people and cats. Thank you @shebangsthedrums86 for quite literally saving my life and #cartagena you really were such a delight! My advice: just say yes!!

I had such a fab time portrait sitting for the art group at Hindolveston village hall last weekend. Something so meditative about sitting still for hours 🥰 lovely to see @kraymartin for a long overdue catch up too!
