POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

I spent most of my free time in July creating a drawing in my favourite medium depicting my favourite people. I believe we became close thanks to a game called Rockband of which @george._.hunter and @jampage1968 (@rockband_live) now host at bars every month! Then we had our first trip together to my cottage which felt like a dream come true. I had always felt inspired by illustrations where the more you look the more you discover like by Jeff Lee Johnson. So I combined our biggest memories to date, capturing our dynamics and personalities to the best of my creative abilities with my inspirations in mind. I’ve been wanting to do something like this for a while so Jasmine’s birthday at the end of the month was the perfect opportunity. From top to bottom, @ryan.wnr is hanging off the left side like a sailor guiding our route; @betty__yvonne aka pop star @cyber___death is mediating on the sofa chair; @natecampbell_ is the active photographer on the paddle board; @theofayez is beside him passing a spliff; @hamster.on.fire is napping in the makeshift mic stand hammock; @george._.hunter is spray painting the highway sign with his bird tag; @jampage1968 is the driver with her dog cinnamon in her lap; I’m the diva hanging out the window; and @p._.ixie is working on a can tab mesh outfit, sourced from the cans we drank over two semesters >:). Thank you to all mentioned, especially to those who sent references and feedback when I asked <3. Thank you to @mia_bush2525 and @lemon_waffles for the in depth feedback during the sketching process :). And special thanks to the student monitor @nell.something who pieced the scans together in photoshop because it was too large for the machine lol.

Final physical drawing is 22 by 16 inches, drawn with ink and colouring pencils. :P

Enjoy extra bits for context like some of my references, vibe inspiration, and lil practice sketch. by @vanessacharlesdraws

Would you live here? It’s more than 30 degrees year round, really windy, and there’s always a big guy hogging the natural public hot tub, but at least the sunsets are pretty! by @vanessacharlesdraws
