An elder lady around mile 4.5 asked me where we are at in the race because she didn’t know how to work her watch. I told her, she said thanks and the she continued to run fast up the hill and never saw her again. I think she did the on purpose to flex on me…this was definitely a FAFO for this half marathon. Such a fun weekend and glad I got to run this @hannahkpear (birthday half PR!!! WAHOO)

Don’t keep reading if you don’t care that much about my feels on how I looked in my photos. Real talk though I definitely did not like the way I looked in any of the race day photos the photographers took. I was hesitant to not post any of them because I HATED the way my body looked in all of them. We all get caught up in how our bodies look compared to what we see on social media, influencers, celebrities, friends, athletes etc. I am definitely guilty of it! But I remembered this body of mine ran a freaking half marathon and a 5k in one weekend. My body has done several other running races in the past! This body can still do hard things, lift hard things, grind through hard things etc. thanks for reading through if you made it this far. Remember ladies, who cares, post those bad photos.

Vanessa came to Physio Performance after sustaining a significant Lisfranc injury to her foot during firefighter probationary period —an injury that could have derailed her firefighter career even before it began.

Through a structured plan, we focused on restoring foot stability, rebuilding strength, and progressively reintroducing load and impact.

A huge credit to her outcome was her consistency. Vanessa showed up to PT 2–3x per week and was incredibly diligent throughout the entire process.

Vanessa didn't just recover—she exceeded expectations.

Today, she's back on the job as a full-duty firefighter and participating in CrossFit without limitations.

First year climbing the stairs of Seattle’s Columbia Center for the LLS (Leukemia & Lymphoma Society) Firefighter Stairclimb. Glad I got to do the climb along side my Tacoma Fire fam and many other firefighters from other departments. Thank you to all who donated! Your donations help with curing all blood cancers and improve quality of life for patients and their families.
