Some highlights from @njwebfest last weekend. 📸

This Festival showcased a solid slate of shorts and audio fiction and brought together a talented group of artist from around the world. We are so thankful to be accepted and take home the award for Best Director in a Comedy for our first year in attendance! 🏆

Huge shoutout to @neem_basha and @neddonovan for putting together this absolute gem of a festival right in our backyard. They really make you feel welcome and accepted at the festival as if you’ve been attending for years. Out of all the festivals we attended with No Witnesses, this was one of the top ones. Whether you’re NJ based, across the country, or on the other side of the world. We highly recommended submitting your projects to this festival.

Overall, we had a fantastic time here and can safely say this will not be our last NJ Webfest! 🎬

Where do I begin.

This is the first award I’ve won for directing. Crazy thing is, when I started my journey into filmmaking I didn’t have the confidence or desire to be a director, but No Witnesses changed that. Despite three unsuccessful attempts at making this film, I knew it could be done, and it could be done right. I just wanted to make this film and then continue on the path of trying to be a cinematographer. I gathered some of my closest friends and collaborators and made it happen. While in the midst of the four long nights of shooting in the cold, with multiple moving parts, something clicked, something felt right. The experience made me realize directing is what I wanted to do.

What I love about directing/ filmmaking in general is how collaboration is essential to your success. I’ve been saying that a director is only as good as the people they surround themselves with, and this group of people who worked on the film are people I’ll ALWAYS try bring with me on whatever film I direct. This is an art form that you literally cannot do alone, and this award equally belongs to all talented creatives that filled up my cast and crew who made No Witnesses a reality.

Thank you @njwebfest for this award! And thank you to @neem_basha and @neddonovan for running such a gem of a festival and welcoming a first time attendee with open arms. You truly have something special with this festival.

Winning this award with @sidequestshortfilm on the horizon has validated my path and supercharged my passion towards this craft. I cannot wait to be on set again doing what I love surrounded by my closest friends who share that same passion.

Quick shout out to @drew.actor for not only being the BEST actor to play Tony, but for showing up to EVERY film festival, and recording this acceptance speech.

Never stop creating! 🎬

Shooting a miniature for the last leg of post production for Liminal. 🎥 🧠

We are in the final stretch of post-production for Liminal, and this miniature shoot is the last piece of the puzzle before we have a completed film. It’s been a long journey through post production with this project, and we finally see the finish line on the horizon.

Thank you for @dylantollefson and @caccamojr for helping us shoot and light the set, and especially @mr_carkeys. Mark always blows us away with his talent in set design, and this miniature he built is no different. @rob_watt_ and @nicoledia_ had their upbringing as filmmakers shaped by the Lord of the Rings behind the scenes, and working with a miniature for the first time was an incredibly gratifying experience.

Stay posted for updates and announcements for Liminal and our other future projects!
