Our Director pitched @idiotproofmovie to her biggest inspo @taikawaititi! On a plane from AKL to LAX! It was her first time in LA for 10 years, and her first business trip as an independent director/producer - she took it as sign to shoot her shot!

So @taikawaititi if you’re down to hear about a lil indie heist film, hit us up (love u whānau)

Ngā mihi ki ngā whānau o te Pacific Island Film Festival New York City 2026.

CCF Founder Angela Cudd was one of the Judges for this year's festival, joining 6 other fantastic judges to watch and discuss a selection of short films.

A special congratulations to our friend Sandra Kailahi (@kingstonproductions), whose episode DESCENDENTS OF NIUE: Filling The Void featuring Alex Tarrant, was showcased on opening night for the PIFF NYC: Pasifika On Air Launch. What a way to open the festival and celebrate Niuean stories on the other side of the world.

Congratulations also to Samoan / New Zealand team A DOLLAR AND A DREAM for taking out the Short Film Award, and to tīma Māori TOITŪ VISUAL SOVEREIGNTY, Desray Armstrong and Chelsea Winstanley, for taking out the Best Feature Film Award.

Special shout out to our fellow sister, Vanilla Tupu for having us and the festival Kaiwhakahaere, Stacey Young.

Today I’m joined by the multi-talented @vanillaitsvanilla.

From ‘ONEFOUR: Against All Odds’ blitzing the Australian ratings and shaking up Pacific Islander representation, to launching It’s Vanilla Productions and directing her debut feature, ‘Idiot Proof’, this episode’s packed with so much gold (and deliciousness).

You won’t wanna miss it!
