I'm so pleased and excited to collaborate and facilitate with one of my dearest friends, beautiful human being, artist, performer, researcher, educator Vanio Papadelli @vanioflowyoga

Here's what it is and how you can join us.

✨ WOMEN’S TOUCH : Skin Stories - NOV 22✨

With Vanio Papadelli and Marie Chabert
🍁 Early birds end on Oct 18!!

📌11-5pm at Siobhan Davies Studio, SE1 6ER (Elephant and castle) @siobhandaviesstudios
💵 Sliding scale £35-60
👭 For women, non-binaries
🌸 All levels. No prior experience in CI or writing is necessary. Everyone with a curiosity to explore movement, touch and words is welcome.

✨ What stories do our bodies carry?
✨How do we move and encounter one another through our skinscape?

In this edition of Women’s Touch, Marie Chabert and Vanio Papadelli invite you to explore the body as a living landscape carrying sensations, memories, traces, restrictions and possibilities.

First we'll explore various ways of touching and responding to touch, tuning to our sensing and listening body.
We will then co-create a temporary archive of body stories, tracing, free writing and responding through touch, mapping sensations, witnessing dances and allowing words and sounds to emerge

A question we're still sitting with...

✨What happens when community becomes something we practise?✨

☀️Last Sunday we spent the day exploring this question through Contact Improvisation, movement scores, conversation and craft paper.

📜 We discovered moments of support, play, care and surprise. The paper became another body in the room— sometimes a partner to wrap ourselves and others with, sometimes an extension of ourselves, sometimes a mediator.

🌸 Every Women's Touch starts from a different question. What stays the same is the invitation to move, think, and reflect together.

🌿 If you joined us:
What stayed with you after the workshop?
Was there a moment that shifted how you think about touch, community, or yourself?

✨ The next Women's Touch takes place in November with a special guest: Vanio Papadelli . Early Bird bookings are now open

Thanks to every single one of you for making this Women's Touch very rich , warm and thoughtful.

Last Sunday's event on "Community as a relational process" was an embodied lab.

We asked questions such as:

Which risk can I take in order to be more comfortable?
What do I need to negotiate within me?
What am I allowing myself to do or not do?
Can I find agency in the discomfort?
Can I shift state and still agree with my partner?

The research lab in groups focused on:
-moving towards and away
-commitment , trust
-contribution, collaboration
-moving through fear and tapping into resources

What participants said:
" It's a great way to actively reflect on the care and support non male offer to each other"

The booking for the next Women's Touch is now open. It will be co-facilitated by myself and Vanio Papadelli @vanioflowyoga

Thank you all for the warmth, friendship, love, wishes, cards.🌸🌸In the last years, I’ve been expanding the festive period over days ... even weeks in a quieter way doing things I love and seeing people I’ve missed.🍀👣🌺
I’m feeling blessed and so lucky to be surrounded and inspired by all of you. Moving, walking and breathing in nature, and seeing art...well, and Greek food... are my favourite things in the world and they’re even better when done with friends and family! Love you all! 💚💚💃🥳❣️😎🎶🎉💚💚 by @m.chabert

From movement to meaning.

Our “ kinaesthetic stories” workshop at Sadler’s Wells East stretched me in many directions — and yet something really beautiful unfolded. I felt humbled by the group who showed up, in person and online.

Together we explored movement, witnessing and self-portraiture — shifting from selfie gaze to self-sensing. Materials met the body, and the camera became a witness rather than something to perform for.

I watched connection move through people’s eyes, fingertips and bodies as they travelled through the room with such tender awareness. Movement became image, and image became story.

I’m deeply grateful for my collaboration with Vanio and for the openness everyone brought to the space. Sharing such personal aspects of my practice and seeing what unfolds from that place still feels like a dream. Thank you to everyone who took part and sharing some of was witnessed ⭐

More soon.

Getting ready for the online version of our Artist LED session
📍@sadlerswells_east
⏰3 February 10:00 -15:00
 with @esther_sabetpour_art

Photos co-created with Esther and with her caring and inspiring guidance, playing with light and shadow, arrival and emergence, revealing and obscuring.

Taking these self-portraits while trying to sort out technical logistics for the hybrid delivery of our workshop (!) felt like a treasure. Such a strange and powerful feeling to face straight at the camera and see parts of me that remain less visible in my everyday life…✨✨There is so much that the lens can reveal when working from a felt sense and without trying to please or pose but…pause and defy socially constructed self images.

Our in person workshop is sold out. Still places left for online attendance. Link in bio 🤳 by @m.chabert

Candid project is a performance project–ritual that has been unfolding since 2013 with @taniabatzoglou and @vanioflowyoga exploring female friendship as it evolves over time. Each year we experiment with different outputs, which so far have taken the form of a theatrical performance, an installation, a video-meditation, photo-text art, storytelling.

This year, within the framework of CANDID 2025, we were fortunate to collaborate closely with @feniakotsopoulou for the creation of a video on our perception of Palestinian women’s experiences during this fragile period of ceasefire.

This year Candid project turned its gaze toward documents, testimonies, essays, literary, and other artworks by Palestinian artists, activists, and journalists. Acknowledging our privileged position as observers of a genocide we have witnessed through social media and news outlets for two years, we sought to convey complex and difficult emotions—despair, grief, solidarity, and hope—with sensitivity through poetic texts and images. We felt we could not remain silent. We felt that inaction leads to insanity and desensitisation…

Mum, why are the oranges crying?
How do you rebuild on so much rubble?
How can the will to live sprout again?

For now, we share here a few images from the video, which will be completed in the coming weeks and shared on our pages.
We warmly thank daz disley and @feniakotsopoulou for their incredible filming in Lincoln; Μπέσσυ Συριοπούλου for her support in filming in Itea; as well as researcher-artist @nesrhussein for her invaluable support and guidance.

“Solidarity is not a sentiment—it is responsibility”

Thank you 2025 💞
It's been a year of reconnection with my artistic practice, of extending existing projects, Laughing Gas and Candid project, gaining skills in the creative health sector, completing a Postgraduate Certificate in Therapeutic Arts (with IATE) and meeting some wonderful people there.

I loved spending time in my garden, seeing lots of shows and exhibitions, working more with video and photography and completing a visual essay on autoethnography and multimodal translation (for a forthcoming book by Bloomsbury Publishing PLC).

So grateful for new collaborations with interdisciplinary artists @esther_sabetpour_art, @feniakotsopoulou and @dominiquerivoal as well as with Consultant Psychiatrist, Psychotherapist and Tutor @tzelikazoumbouli. Always inspired to facilitate creative arts sessions with migrant women at @creatinggroundcic

@taniabatzoglou, @woodhouse642 Angela Woodhouse @vgrasse Vanessa Grasse @michaelpicknett and @nesrhussein Nesreen Nabil Hussein you've been there supporting my practice as friends and colleagues in so many ways and instances. Thank you for being in my life!

This year, I've also had the joy to teach and supervise some incredibly creative and open to experimentation students @rosebruford BA European Theatre Arts and BA Theatre and Social Change as well as the MA/MFA Choreography and MA/MFA Creative Practice @trinitylaban

2026 starts with a full-on teaching term, more freelancing performance and community arts projects, lots of applications (!!) and a sold-out Artist-led workshop (in person attendance) that I will co-facilitate with @esther_sabetpour_art @sadlerswells_east! There are still tickets for online attendance - link in bio :) by @m.chabert

🍃Kinaesthetic Stories: Body, Image, Words

To book, links in bio🍃
(one for in person and one for online attendance)

Beyond excited to co-lead with Esther Sabetpour a 5-hour workshop online and in person at Sadlers Wells East. A space to reimagine identity and memory through guided somatic movement, witnessing scores, free writing, and partner-curated self-portraits. Together, we’ll explore past and present stories rooted in the body and a felt sense of place.

Guided movement explorations will help you attune to the body’s impulses for interacting with light, framing, and instant composition. Free writing will serve as a connective tissue between movement and photography, helping define the photographic theme.

Approaching the body kinaesthetically, we’ll treat ‘seeing’ not only as a visual act but as an embodied experience where light, body, and camera move in dialogue.

No prior experience in dance, writing, or photography is required—only openness, curiosity, and a willingness to have a go!

Quick, quick ! don’t wait too long before you book as places are going fast!!The workshop is free🙂

There are two separate links to book in bio (one for in person and one for online attendance) 🥳

Kinaesthetic Stories
🗓 3 February
📍 Sadler’s Wells East

A 5-hour interdisciplinary workshop exploring story through body, image, and words.

Working at the intersection of arts and wellbeing, we moved between guided somatic movement, witnessing scores, free writing, and partner-made self-portraits.

Together, we explored identity and memory as they live in the body — attuning to light, touch, framing, and presence.
Seeing became an embodied act, where body, camera, and movement entered into dialogue.

The clips shared here were filmed in the studio and terrace where we’ll be leading from, working with natural light, air, and the elements as part of the process.

A slow, intimate practice that softened the boundary between observer and observed — inviting a way of seeing that’s felt, not just seen.

Kinaesthetic Stories: Body · Image · Words
An Artist-Led Session @sadlers_wells

Across five hours of movement, witnessing, words, and mobile photography, we’ll explore the subtle places where memory lives — the ones that shift, surface, and reshape when given space.
Through guided somatic prompts, partner witnessing, and playful work with light, fabric, and framing, we’ll explore the tender edges between what is seen and what is felt.
A space to explore & reimagine yourself — through movement, through image, through the pulse of your own narrative.

You are warmly invited to connect and create with us at Saddlerswells East.
