He would have been 59 today. He would have told me he’s taking the bus to Philly. He would have told me to call my ‘Aunty Yolanda’ so he could get his ticket. 😩😂 I miss my dad more than words.. Today is going to be a long day.. 😞إِنَّا لِلَّٰهِ وَإِنَّا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ Ya Allah please make his grave spacious and full of light. Spare him from the tortures of the grave, and grant him a beautiful abode in Jennah. Ameen by @vanityguinness

I don’t post my family much, the are my safe space one of the most cherished things I have in this world. Being around them whether individually or together they reminded me how loved and supported I am. No matter what is happening we can always come together and laugh, joke and reminisce on the old memories and create news ones. Though I experienced a tremendous sadness with the loss of my father, the joy of new life is so abundant. I love when my babies have babies, it’s like watching them grow up all over again. Al’hamdulillah.. They are all grown up now 😢.. And a special thanks to my fav @alexiajay__ for getting my make up together with such short notice, so earlier in the morning 🥰🤗. by @vanityguinness

I’ve arrive at 41 years of life experience, and I’ve learned that I have SO much more to learn. He’s a few 💎’s from my journey. Take what you need:

- Speak, move and act with Love.
- Listen, listen and continue to listen.
- I’m forever a student, but a teacher in the eyes of others. So lead by example.
- Get All the hard stuff out the way first, conversations, challenges, pivots.
- Knowledge and implementation live worlds apart. Knowledge is just information if it’s not applied.
- Pardon others and give GRACE & MERCY.
- ANYTHING is possible
- Process, Reflect, Adjust, Repeat
- be kind, Be Kind, BE KIND.. (can the text get any bigger on this app?? Because BE KIND)
- We do not own our time, we only manage it. Our time belongs to Allah and He allows what He wills
- Friends are very rare, not everyone is a friend, friends that remind you of Allah are more precious than the most rare gem.
- Rectify your affairs with Allah consistently
- Sometimes you really need a good cry, take it right to Allah, when words can’t do the job, He knows what those tears mean.
- Yesterday at 40, I had an anxiety attack..for the 1st time in my life.. over something that I THOUGHT about from YEARS ago. The Body does not forget. Healing is constant work.
- You can’t ‘fix’ anyone and love isn’t always enough.
- Choose your purpose Everytime and life will be much more fulfilling.
- Everything of good you give to others first learn to give to YOURSELF.
- Be amongst people, places and things where elevation, growth, good character and morality are always present. - Peace, Time, Good Company, Clarity are just the a very few things that are invaluable.

Not single day goes by… 💔.. these last few months have been the heaviest.. I wish I could just call him and tell him everything that’s been going.. I’d be laughing by the end of the call.. May Allah make my fathers grave spacious and full of light Ameen by @vanityguinness
