Cooktown, on Cape York Peninsula was always on the cards. It’s also pretty much the closest we could get to the tip of Australia in our 2WD van 🚐✌️

Real Life ⚡️Van Life 13. Just casually grocery shopping @ the local supermarket.

This is our fave way to stock up on fresh fruit and veggies, and our fave way to boycott the big supermarkets, who reject “imperfect” but perfectly good produce.

Otherwise if we had a permanent address we’d go for online stores like @funkyfoodau @goodandfugly @farmerspickau @butcher_crowd @ourcowau 🫰

Wouldn’t it be grand if you could somehow get produce delivered to your van 🚐?

Another slice of heaven in the QLD Outback 🤫 just 140kms west of Mareeba along the Wheelbarrow Way.

Once in town, to find this refreshing 💦 gem of a spot turn down Weir Rd from the intersection of Frew St and Aerodome Rd, and follow the gravel road until you get to the end. There’s a couple of vantage points you can swim at but we favoured the emerald water hues at the weir.

And best of all there’s no crocs 🐊😅

Fancy stand-up paddle boarding through Queensland’s youngest known gorge in the Gulf Savannah?

A unique experience where you can SUP through Cobbold Gorge on a guided tour, weaving through a maze of stunning rock formations, up to approximately 2 metres narrow.

Stay @cobboldgorge village which is an experience in itself, offering camping and accommodation, dining, various tours and unlimited access to an infinity pool overlooking a freshwater billabong with lily pads and wildlife, that you can also kayak around in.

⚠️ The road in is unsealed but it was manageable in a 2WD at the time we visited.

A hidden QLD outback gem 💎 you don’t want to miss!

It’s official. Dreams can come true ✨

But it definitely didn’t happen overnight!

It took about 2 years of planning and van building. 2 years of saving and sacrificing. And 2 years of dreaming this into our lives.

Now it’s been about 1 year and 7 months of travelling, working and living on the road around Australia 💛 and finding magical places like this ✨a jewel in the Savannah Gulf in Outback Queensland.

What’s your dream? 💭
