World War II & the Greco-Italian War (1940–1944)

When Mussolini’s Italy invaded Greece from occupied Albania in October 1940, these mountain ridges became critical frontline positions for coastal artillery and machine-gun nests.

Following Italian setbacks and the subsequent German occupation (1943–1944), the heights were fortified with heavy observation posts, machine-gun emplacements, and munitions storage to counter Allied naval patrols in the Ionian and disrupt local Albanian partisan resistance in the coastal villages below.

While the rest of Hong Kong moves at hyper-speed, the iconic double-decker "Ding Ding" trams have been pacing these exact streets since 1904. Sitting by the window on the upper deck feels like stepping into a moving frame of a vintage film.

To me, real city indulgence isn’t about rushing from one landmark to the next. It’s about the luxury of time—riding with no particular destination, listening to the track hum, watching the neon signs bleed into afternoon shadows, and letting the city unfold at its own beautiful, rhythmic pace.

Some things are timeless for a reason.

Where do i even start about this place?

Kuruvadweep is a beautiful island surrounded by the forest ranges of Bandipur, Nagarhole and Muthanga. Kabini river flows around the island, making the primary water source for the tribe living in the island. Everything they eat is cultivated and harvested in their own island.

They are very limited to the outside world though there is a tourist version of the kuruva island.

The tribal people worship Major of Hindu gods Such as Vishnu, Shiva, Ganapathi, Badrakali etc. They are renovating their temple (Pakkomkotta Maha Kshethram) and any donations would greatly help them in their temple renovation and their day to day life.

Styrian Iron Trail, which has been developed as a tourist adventure road since 1986 comprising 18 municipalities, promises an exciting journey through the past and present of ore mining and smelting over a length of around 100 kilometres.
