A little impression of my exhibition The Return at the Genezareth Kirche in Aachen.

It is special to see my works come together in this place. The space, the light, and the works create a connection of their own.
The exhibition can still be visited until September 6th.

If you’re in or around Aachen, you’re very welcome to come and see it. It is always special to experience the works in person. 🤍

Different traditions, placed side by side.
Different stories, woven into one

What happens when different traditions meet?

Old materials carry stories.
The familiar lines of timber-framed houses from this area, together with the beauty of decorated wooden beams found in Korea, were an inspiration for this work.
The old materials, from both places, have already lived a life. They carry traces of what came before and the stories attached to them.
What once belonged to something else is given a new place here. Inside a box, the past is not hidden, but seen in a new context.
A new story from old traces. ✨

Holding on to letting go.

I keep returning to that question.
What do we hold on to?
What do we let go of when everything changes?

A little peek into this new piece. ✨
Combining painted bits with real objects again. If you could step into it, what do you think we’d be eating? (Definitely ramen for me 🍜)
