How does that package on your doorstep get there?

Just north of St. Louis, the Melvin Price Locks and Dam helps move hundreds of millions of tons of goods along the Mississippi River each year. This massive structure plays a key role in keeping consumer products, agricultural goods, and other cargo moving through the nation's inland waterways. | via Devante McFarlane (@vante4k) for #LivingStLouis.

Correction: The story inaccurately states that the entire system moves over 40 million tons, but that is specific to the Melvin Price Dam. We regret the error. by @vante4k

Wesley Bell has won re-election to Missouri’s 1st Congressional District, defeating challenger Cori Bush for a second time in a nationally-watched rematch for the seat.

With 99% of precincts reporting, Bell led Bush 59.2% to 36.9%.

As Bell celebrated victory with supporters at the Marriot Hotel in downtown St. Louis, Bush asked her supporters to hold him accountable for work during his next term at a concession speech at the Family Haven Event Center in Dellwood.

“St. Louis is here because of the Mississippi,” said Jim.

Born and raised in St. Louis, Jim Stolarski has spent years sharing the Mississippi River with visitors from near and far.

As a captain on the Tom Sawyer Riverboat at the @riverboatstl, he offers passengers a journey filled with stunning views, local history, and a deeper appreciation for the river. | via Devante McFarlane (@vante4k) for #LivingStLouis. by @vante4k

Behind-the-scenes snaps, details, and outtakes from @ninepbs shoots at three St. Louis County Library branches for an in-depth interview series with candidates for St. Louis County Executive ✨ Arguably the most important regional local election of 2026.

Shout out to Sarah Fenske and @stlouismag for helping make this important series produced and directed by the very fabulous @annemberger. Extreme talent and laughs from pals @_molly_hart, @vante4k, @aaronlandgraf and @officiallyreel.

Tune in July 27 at 7 p.m. or catch the entire series whenever you want on the @ninepbs YouTube channel. taken in Nine PBS by @vante4k
