Beauty and the Beast themed special event for some special young people. Here’s a start to finish look at the head table ‘ballroom window’ backdrop inspired by the 2017 film adaptation. Living in a fairly remote northern community, supplies and shipping delays force us to become resourceful. No wooden inlays to purchase you say? No problem! There’s lots you can create from scraps of foam insulation, a heat tool and a bit of determination. Stained glass not feasible?? No sweat when you have a cricut master, a steady hand and lots of patience. The process of teaching our youth how to visualize a project, formulate a plan, helping them find solutions when roadblocks arise to finally seeing it come to fruition is so fulfilling. With most things in life, the journey isn’t always a fluid route from point A to point B. We often zig zag our way to the finish line but boy, we sure learn every step of the way. #EGLS #graduation #specialevent #beautyandthebeast #creative #rose by @vanwat

Spring is in the air! The days are longer, the Labrador skies are brighter. These are the days when the lovers of winter soak up the last few weeks of adventures in the snow and garden dreamers break free of their winter dormancy and start to bloom again. Easter is almost here! Whatever your plans are for the upcoming break, I wish you warmth, happiness and an abundance of positive, energetic vibes! #Labradorskies #Springisintheair #Spring #Happiness #Sharethelove by @vanwat

Finding work, health, self care and relationship balance. Life is a true balancing act and going back to work after so many years of long term disability has proven to be challenging yet very rewarding. The wheels are constantly turning and if not careful we can easily tip the energy scales in the wrong direction. It’s hard to find balance sometimes but when you find your groove, and discover what truly matters in YOUR life (not your neighbours, your co workers, your friends, brothers or sisters!), you find a way to make it a priority. This is how we do it. Lunchtime gym date style! It allows us to reconnect every day. Independently doing something positive for our bodies, yet doing it together. Keep striving for a healthy, happy life balance. If something doesn’t feel right, reset and readjust! #gymdate #lunchtimeworkout #healthybalancedlifestyle #workitout #strongwomen by @vanwat

Happy St. Paddy’s Day me Lads and Lasses! 🍀🌈🍺 Irish soda bread, Irish stew and an Irish FOOL! Lol There are so many lovely Irish blessings that are especially fitting during these unsettling days of COVID. Like this one...”Here’s to a fellow who smiles when life runs along like a song. And here’s to the lad who can smile when everything goes dead wrong.” However, this might be one of my favourites ....”As you slide down the banister of life,
May the splinters never point the wrong way.” The Irish tunes are playing and I’m ready to break out da spoons! Here’s to finding your pot of gold at the end of your rainbow! CHEERS! #stpaddysday #happystpatricksday #irishstew #irishblessing #awkwardselfie #nolucksgiven by @vanwat

Happy New Year! 2020 was a doozy. We’ve learned so much about ourselves and each other during these last few months. Who knows what 2021 will bring! Spend it with the ones you love, the ones who make you laugh and fill your heart with joy. Those who can make you smile with the very thought of them. Whatever the new year brings may it be full of peace and happiness! #newyear #2021 #theonesyoulove #byebye2020 by @vanwat
