I believe in Georgia, God, and morality. Art can make your life easier, science comfortable, and morality peaceful. Traditions and the future matter.

“Samartali Modis” is a multicultural fusion of American Native folklore, Egyptian darbuka, Indian-inspired rhythms, Celtic and Gaelic musical traditions, all rooted in a distinctly Georgian influence.

The Native American flute featured in the track is sampled from the Comanche Riding Song.

Unofficial release "Samartali Modis" is an attempt to imagine what folklore might sound like in the union — where different cultural experiences, rhythms and musical themes can exist within the same composition.

The song speaks about injustice across every continent of our world — and about the belief that, in the end, justice will prevail over injustice. Especially in the motherland.

Performed & recorded by Vakhtang Kantaria:
Drums, bass, electric hard chords, electric harpsichord, electric guitar, claps, vocals & special synthesizer effects.

Mixed & mastered by Vakhtang Kantaria.
Recorded in Tbilisi, Georgia, Europe.

Vakhtang Kantaria's song “Ai Dardi” is based on the Georgian song “Mokhevis Kalo Tina” and combines elements of early blues, country rock, contemporary experimental hip-hop, and electronic music. It also incorporates the aesthetics of alternative folk and what could be described as futuristic folk.

To create this musical piece, fragments taken from (Vakhtang's different demos) songs are broken apart, transformed, and reassembled into a new whole. Then re-recorded again. This fragmented approach creates an intentionally disorienting and unstable musical space, in which the familiar and the unfamiliar, the traditional and the contemporary, become intertwined.

The composition aims to evoke a sense of confusion, disorientation, and an almost physical, visceral feeling — as if the music is simultaneously falling apart and being reconstructed.
