Ohhh soft main characters will always have a special place in my heart and i will defend them with my life (Scarlett, Evangeline, Alizeh, Juliette and Ophelia)🀺🀺🀺🀺 Also, what do you meaning they're boring and sue marys. And wdym lately i keep seeing this praise for the snappy fmc's who externalize their trauma because they're more realistic and complex", and it just frustrates me sooo much. Just say you don't understand how different personalities and coping mechanisms work, because to me these soft fmc's are the MOST realistic, relatable and badass 😭 And the strenght in staying kind when the worlds is cruel to you is SOO underrated and underappriciated. Literally just had the most peaceful fall day after an uni lecture. I really don't value living in the moment enough. I've always been an overthinker, and lately with so many changes in my life it's gotten way worse. But then I experience a moment like this today, where i just look around me, feel the feest fall breeze on my skin and just live in the moment, and i actually actually peaceful for once. And it just made me realize i need to just sit and be in nature way more often. I always either think of the past or worry for the future, but i never just take a moment to experience the now. And need to make that a more regular part of my life, because that moment where you dont think but just feel, even when reading a book or journaling, it's so important for your mind, body and soul. "There were two golden rules their mother had taught them about roaming New Orleans after dark: the first was that if the dark looks at you, you never look back. The second rule was that if you did break the first, never ever make any deals with a devil. Not unless you wanted to lose your sole." The vibes were immaculate in this book. It reminded me of the Caraval vibe, so atmospheric, gothic and eerie. And i felt it every page of the story. It's about our girl Ophelia who's a necromancer going into these creepy bloody trials to save her sister who's gone missing. AND IT FLEW TROUGH ITTT. The way i was so fully entertained. And the ROMANCEE>>> OMG, Blackwell made me constantly giggle and kick my feet. He and Ophelia are so perfect for each other, and i love them with my entire soul guys. And Ophelia has my entire heart. I am Ophelia and Ophelia is me, and i love seeing fmc's i relate to so much, it just warms my heart. And the plot was SOO good tooo! The way i CANNOT wait to read these 6 books this year!!! (Even if I still have to read the entire series of some these books hihi. More amazing books for me to readdπŸ™ˆπŸ’–) β˜† The Lockpick and the Lyre- my book bestie has been RAVING to me about this series, so the way I CANNOT wait to read these books. I'm SOO excited to read them and for the release!!! β˜† Devoured - this book has such a special place in my heart. It's one of the best books I've read this year, one of the only ones that made me feel like I wasn't in a reading slump. So the way I YEARN for the second one, it's almost timeeee IEHH β˜† Shadow and Son - i CANNOT wait to read this series, it's everything i love. And the way the series has THE prettiest covers ever! Sooooo excited!!! β˜† With Hearts of Flame - this is literally my most anticipated series to read this year. I have not been this excited to read a romantasy series in AGES. And the way my best friend is OBSESSED with these books, i cannot wait to buddy read the last book with her <33 β˜† Vine of Heart - rose in chains is also one of my most anticipated reads EVER. The way i get excited from the mere thought of reading it. I told myself to wait until at least the second one came out and IEEHH it's almost timeeeee!! The way I am so ready for yet another one of Julie's beautiful books to join my bookshelves hihi β˜† A destined Pursuit - these characters and the author have such a special place in my heart. OMG the way these fanarts got me desperate to read the books!!! HSJSJS I have such a big TBR for the fall, but i I'm so excited to read then alll. I haven't been thus excited to read book in ages, and i loooove having this feeling back. Ever since I started uni, I've put my reading life on hold. By not starting big romantasy series anymore for example. Or putting of books I was truly excited to read because it wasn't the right time. And honestly for a while I kind of lost interest in romantasy. I mean, romance books are waayy easier to read and digest when having a busy schedule. But the truth i miss that feeling of opening that first romantasy books and knowing you'll be obsessed for the rest of your life. I miss reading trough entire series in days/weeks. I miss being so invested in the characters, the plot and the found family. The last time I had that might've been when reading An Ember in the Ashes which was in 2024🫑πŸ₯² However because of that there's so much in that excites me, and this is only 1% of the books i can't wait to read!!
