CAPACETE e Criolense Kitchen Club convidam você para a apresentação "You Are My Mirror", de VASKOS.

VASKOS é uma dupla artística multidisciplinar formada por Vassilis Noulas e Kostas Tzimoulis, criada em Atenas (Grécia), em 2014. Em seus trabalhos, abordam a noção de identidade artística, sexual e nacional, explorando-a de maneira híbrida e lúdica por meio de diversas práticas, como performance, fotografia, desenho, publicações e curadoria.

Na primeira parte da noite, a dupla terá o prazer de compartilhar imagens, textos e canções de seus trabalhos mais recentes. Apresentarão também registros do espaço de arte colaborativo e independente EIGHT/ Το ΟΧΤΩ (@eight_athens), que administram em Atenas.

Na segunda parte, projetarão trechos mais extensos de suas aclamadas peças teatrais "SEBASTIAN" (2023) e "Oops!" (2025), produzidas por sua companhia de teatro, Nova Melancholia (@novamelancholia). Após as projeções, convidarão o público a se deixar levar pela música de canções que integraram seus espetáculos ao longo dos anos.

As falas serão em inglês, com tradução consecutiva para o português àqueles que precisarem.

“From Vardari to Omonoia” our performance with the participation of Viktor, Danove, oplacenta, Ioanna Tzatsou, Sofia Xanthou, Alexis Lidec @oplcnta , @dan__ove , @i0009n , @_victo.ry_ , @alex_lidec activated our installation work in the 9th Thessaloniki Biennale @thessalonikibiennale , curated by @nadjaarg , and took place on the 22nd and 23rd of May 2026. “From Vardari to Omonoia” claims the public urban space as a living and embodied part of the history of the LGBTQ+ community. The performance From "Vardari to Omonoia" is supported by NEON Organization for Culture and Development . @neongreece through its annual Grants Scheme. by @vaskos_

Η έκδοση “Απ’ το Βαρδάρι ως την Ομόνοια” είναι μέρος του ομότιτλου εικαστικού έργου των VASKOS στο πλαίσιο της 9ης Μπιενάλε Σύγχρονης Τέχνης Θεσσαλονίκης @thessalonikibiennale, σε επιμέλεια @nadjaarg.

From the Kerenidis Pepe Collection

VASKOS, Déjà vu: Kyoto 2016, 2016. Pigment inkjet print on archival paper, 80 × 45 cm, Edition of 3

‘Déjà vu’ is a series of photographic diptychs that act as a paradoxical game of memory, as an affirmation of mutual complicity, or as a journey diary of common life. Each diptych comprises two images -one by each of us- of (almost) the same subject. The photographs are taken during our journeys but the diptychs are created afterwards by selection. The “joint” element concerns the editing, the joint decision to trigger a common memory, to give a meaning to the trivial. The Déjà vu diptychs act like a mirroring on each other’s gaze. There is a paradox in the title, in that this feeling of the “already seen,” the previously experienced, occurs simultaneously, on the spot and more or less consciously, and then occurs for a second time in the editing. The déjà vu is triggered by something relatively unimportant ; what matters is the feeling itself, the momentary destabilization of normality it produces, the vertigo. It suddenly feels as if you have touched the tip of an iceberg of memory.

The publication From Vardari to Omonoia, edited by Vassilis Noulas and Kostas
Tzimoulis, translated by Fotini Pipi, was printed by risography at DOLCE, in Athens, @dolcepub
in May 2026, on 80gsm Palatina paper. The publication utilized books from our
personal library, photographs taken on site, collages with beloved verses and male
bodies from old issues of the erotic magazine LOOK.

The publication is part of the visual arts work of the same name created by VASKOS
in the context of the 9th Thessaloniki Biennale of Contemporary Art @thessalonikibiennale “everything must
change. Radical Intelligence. Saloniki 9,” curated by Nadja Argyropoulou. @nadjaarg

Titled “everything must change. Radical Intelligence. Saloniki 9”, curated by independent curator Nadja Argyropoulou and organized by MOMUS-Metropolitan Organisation of Museums of Visual Arts of Thessaloniki, the 9th Thessaloniki Biennale of Contemporary Art announces artists, participants, and projects.

Residentes 2026.1 | @vaskos_

VASKOS é um duo multidisciplinar formado pelos artistas Vassilis Noulas e Kostas Tzimoulis, em atuação desde 2014 em Atenas (Grécia). Suas obras abordam de forma lúdica as identidades artísticas, sexuais e nacionais por viés da performance, da fotografia, do desenho, da cerâmica, da editoração e das práticas curatoriais. No cerne está o festejo das colaborações artísticas, desafiando as noções tradicionais de identidade e autoria. VASKOS recorre à associação livre de palavras, textos, objetos e materiais, denotando um homoerotismo aberto com elementos excêntricos em diálogo com eco-queerness.

VASKOS está em atividade há bastante tempo nas comunidades queer e artísticas de Atenas, promovendo espaços auto-organizados como o EIGHT / ΤΟ ΟΧΤΩ (@eight_athens) e participando em eventos coletivos. São também membros-chave do grupo de teatro experimental Nova Melancholia (@novamelancholia).

A obra da dupla já foi apresentada na 9ª Bienal de Salónica (2026), na 18.ª Bienal de Istambul (2025), na NEON Organization (2024), no Athens Photo Festival (2022, 2019), no EMST (2024, 2022), PCAI (2024, 2023, 2022), Ópera Nacional da Grécia (2022), festival queer TRANSFORM em Marselha (2022), HKW Berlim (2022) e Phenomenon Anafi (2021).

Gorgeous like Ancient Columns

A hundred years ago, Nelly’s (1899-1998) began systematically photographing the Acropolis of Athens and its antiquities. The famous Generation of the ‘30s placed at the core of the country’s intellectual life, the search for “Greekness” as the identity of the Modern Greeks, that would enhance their self-confidence by drawing on their relationship with the Great Past. On Nelly’s inspiration, the photographs of Greek antiquities were used, above all, to demonstrate the close affinity between ancient statuary and the Modern Greek physiognomy.
Countering the demand for the Greek ideals, harmony, racial purity, physical vigor, classical grace and athletic strength, VASKOS tenderly and playfully perform their own vulnerable, gendered and mature bodies.
