Our Black History Program at Dream Preparatory Academy was a truly special moment for our students, families, and community. Watching our young scholars celebrate culture, history, and excellence was both inspiring and meaningful.

We extend a sincere thank you to Dr. Ennis Fant and Sylvia Wright for taking the time to be with us and pour into our students. Your presence and words meant so much to our families and helped make the day even more memorable. We also want to thank our very own Edith Alston, Co-Director at Dream Preparatory Academy, for sharing such an inspiring poem.

A special thank you to Vaughn Newman for the beautiful dance performance that brought so much energy and expression to the program. Our students were captivated and inspired.

We are also grateful to Micha Knight for capturing such wonderful moments through video that will help us remember this celebration for years to come.

Most of all, we are proud of our students. Seeing their confidence, creativity, and pride shine through reminded us why moments like this matter so much. Thank you to all the parents and families who came out to support and celebrate with us. Your presence made the celebration even more meaningful.

Taking some time to decompress, I said I wasn’t posting anything about Ghana until Monday. Wondering how to fix the melody of a broken song…pieces of a record left behind. I’ll settle for scratched lyrics and skipping beats just to bruise my heart on that deep rock again. Caressed by its sharp edges and kissed by its gravity glued to a rhythm missed by far too many souls…damn.

I don’t know who needs to hear this but start living and enjoying your life! Your life is passing by daily, and all you’re doing is working, paying bills, and overthinking stuff you can’t change. So start taking trips, treating yourself to nice things, treating yourself to well-deserved rest, and learning how to let go and let God. Enjoy life and be grateful and great!

May the space between where you are now and where you want to be inspire you rather than stress you.

Faith is to believe what you do not see; the reward of its faith is to see what you believe.

I am back on American soil and return to work this morning renewed and rejuvenated, knowing the greater rhythm of life orchestrated by the Universe, nature, and the decisions I make not only contribute to my sustenance but the progression of community, culture, and the overall Spirit of humanity also. I embrace this rhythm whole and complete, eagerly awaiting the outpouring of Spirit for the advancement of body, mind, and Spirit.

Today, I honor this rhythm in you, me, and our collective conscious.

Be Blessed!
Happy Hump Day!
