🦇 HOLY GHOST GRAIL 🏆👻💥First ever appearance of Batman in France 🇫🇷Published on June 2, 1940 in HURRAH! #261, under the name “Le Masque Rouge”.This edition reproduces in black and white Detective Comics #33 (November 1939), telling the very first origin of Batman by Bill Finger and Bob Kane ! Released only 7 months after the original US publication.Before Batman, the name “Le Masque Rouge” was already used in HURRAH! for other characters, including Zigomar. On June 2, 1940, Batman replaces him but keeps the same editorial name.This issue came out during the German invasion of France, just 20 days before the armistice of June 22, 1940.The magazine would stop shortly after, with issue #264 on June 23, due to the war.________________________#batman #frenchcomics by @vaultur_
