Tomorrow is the Birthday Trifecta. The day my mom gave birth to me and the day I gave birth to my daughter.
April 23rd.
I get all kinds of reactions when I tell people.
But I know the only reaction that matters is mine.
It’ll be the second shared birthday without my mom.
In so many ways she is with me.
In ways I may not even know yet.
She loved Simon & Garfunkel.
Her love for music and playing music lives through me.
Happy Heavenly Birthday to my mama Bonnie and to my sweet daughter Asha Baani.
Magic, cosmic moments, signs and miracles are real.
How blessed I am to be part of them.

for now

700K women and girls in Gaza will get their periods this month and 175K are on their periods right now. Collectively, they need 10M pads to comfortably manage their periods this month, but less than 25% of that exists. No pads. No clean water. No Midol. No privacy. They’re tearing fabric off tents to manage their periods, reusing rags without clean water, risking infection just to get through the day.

Three years into this conflict 81% of Gaza is damaged or destroyed, including clinics and hospitals, and 90% of the population is displaced. Imagine what that’s like, now imagine having your period without supplies.

🩷Still We Rise community, let’s help give women and girls their dignity back 🩷

USA for UNFPA is delivering 2,500 Dignity Kits. They are $15 each. Pads, soap, underwear, laundry detergent — the basics that give women and girls a little dignity back.

As of today,
September 1, 2026, it has been 7 years & 8 months since January 1, 2019.
That’s how long I’ve been alcohol-free.

Even though 2026 has thrown some serious challenges my way, I have remained alcohol-free. Waking up, hangover-free each day has given me the strength to get back up. Alcohol would have made my “bouncing back” impossible.

These photos capture moments over the last few months, that being alcohol-free allowed me to see.
I’m grateful.
I’m proud.
