A 2026 goal ticked off 💋 Earlier this year I wrote “work with Breakout Beauty” into my business plan - so getting to host my first ever PR workshop as part of this year’s Breakout Beauty Accelerator really full-circle! As someone who is much happier pitching other people than standing at the front of a room myself, it was a huge step outside my comfort zone… Breakout Beauty’s Accelerator programme gives emerging beauty founders 10 weeks of support, education and access to experts across the industry, all working towards the opportunity to be stocked in Boots. My session was all about Modern Beauty PR - what PR actually does for a growing brand, where it sits within the wider marketing mix, how the media landscape is changing, and how founders can start building their PR foundations before they’re ready to invest in a full press office service. I also brought in my brilliant friend @tara.ledden, Beauty Director at Fabulous, to give an editor perspective - because I wanted the founders to hear directly from the people we’re ultimately pitching to, too. Having worked with niche and scaling beauty brands for most of my career, I’m really passionate about sharing my PR experience with them, so it was such an honour to be a tiny part of these brands’ journeys. And I’ve loved watching what they’ve gone on to do throughout the programme since - and will continue to do!
