She’s 10! 😭 We’re at a Pulmonology check up this morning, and she was thrilled that her hospital bracelet says she’s 10. It’s pretty insane to think that a decade ago, she came into this world with all the medical fanfare a diva could present at one time. Now to see her, still a medical diva and unicorn, but SO grateful for all the progress we’ve made while she still has an enthusiastic, determined and willing spirit to continue going through all her medical challenges. by @vbmommabear

Obligatory Father’s Day post, BUT with a big career update:

Matt was promoted to CFO of Boondocks Entertainment in January, which also meant he is back in school to get his Masters in Accounting to qualify for taking the CPA exams. Those of you in the accounting world, if you know, you know.

Matt is one of the most loyal people I’ve met, and I’m proud to see how he started from literally the bottom of the company in his teens to one of their corporate leaders over the space of almost 20 years.

If you have a second, send him a text! He hasn’t made any kind of announcement about this amazing accomplishment, and we are really proud of him. by @vbmommabear

Chloe and I went to a diversity inclusivity event at our church tonight, and this professional 9-year-old came with a PowerPoint presentation about her hearing loss, AND a unicorn coloring page to share that she drew in an Osia hearing aid on. Am I surprised? No. 😂

But here comes the hard part. After going to this beautiful event where she shared what it’s like to live with hearing loss and share with others how they can support people who are hard of hearing, she broke down in bed while she told me about an experience she had in a class lesson weeks, maybe even months ago that felt so isolating to her. I hadn’t heard about it, but this event tonight brought it back to her memory.

People with disabilities, no matter how big or small, are always struggling to keep up with their peers. They often carry invisible burdens and grief. It is a trial they’ve been called to bear usually their entire life. And today I was reminded that Chloe carries more than I realize. by @vbmommabear

It’s been awhile since I’ve done an update on Chaser!
He’s a boy’s boy through and through. He LOVES trains, cars, first responder vehicles, anything with wheels. He would be outside all day if I let him, and he’s ready for a big boy bike! He’s clearly earned his badge of Annoying Little Brother because he wants to be around Chloe every second. He loves and looks up to her so much!
He loves to be my “helper” and is getting so grown up 😭 He wants to walk to his bed instead of me carrying him, and he’s getting quite large to snuggle in my rocking chair. Knowing he’s my last biological baby is giving me all the feels! Slow down, mister! by @vbmommabear
