Why should you ride a #performancechubmodel … Well first of all most boards sold in a surf shop are are from big companies making boards for big pros that surf waves that are quite a bit better then we normally ride here in New England. They are tailored for waves that we don’t ever really get. The waves we normally ride most surfers in other regions would not even consider going out in. For me I grew up in Hawaii and Cape Cod. Even though the Cape is not Hawaii it packs more juice then most waves on the east coast. Me moving to a block from second beach, a wave that I thought was the worst wave on the planet, I needed to figure out a board to have fun here on that was not a longboard. I’ve made p-chubs for over 20 years but it never was a board of choice for the waves I surfed. Finally got on a p chub and started to enjoy gutless small beach break. I never have to pump and have enough speed to just worry about where and what kind of turn is next. I’ve never surfed small waves as well as I do now at 54 years old. You don’t need to go long and you aren’t on the WSL. Maybe it’s time to get a board made for the conditions that you surf, by a shaper that surfs in your backyard, not a shaper from Hawaii making boards for waves you don’t ever see in your line up. I am putting this up because I have a blast surfing in your backyard while 99% of you are struggling to catch a wave. Wish I hit this lip as hard as I hit the shark in the river mouth paddling out right before this wave. It wasn’t chasing me it was thrashing by me chasing a 1.5’ fish. I swat at it with my board instead of it hitting me. Can’t take a Cape Codder anywhere without encountering a shark. taken in Golfito, Costa Rica by @vecsurfboards

Been dropping in too late? Time for a custom #answermodel tailored to you and your break. You don’t need a board that is made for world class waves and beat surfers in the world. You’re on the east coast and you may be a good surfer but you’re not on tour. Dm to get a board made for you and the waves you ride by @vecsurfboards

Even though I’ve been dying to go for a surf it has been hard to leave Vermont when everyday has been a POW day. Today I found a sick wave in the backcountry.
