A 20-day painting process condensed 🎥

"Hiking Trail 2"—Wild foliage on a HK trail. Nature’s resilience: weeds thriving underfoot. Layered watercolour for leaves; acrylic + foil echo urban traces (wrappers, glass, railings). Stitching marks where wild meets walked-upon.

"Pink Orchids"
Watercolour, Acrylic and Foil on Paper
51 x 36 cm, 2024

Pink orchids glowing against tarnished gold/silver/bronze. The foil’s irregular textures are inspired by 灑金箋 (gold-sprinkled calligraphy paper). 🖌️ by @vedangart

"Victoria Park 1"
Watercolour, Acrylic, Foil and Thread on Paper | 55 x 70 cm, 2025

Obsessed with Victoria Park’s chaotic colours—flowers & trees that shouldn’t match but somehow do. Like HK, a bit unruly, but vibrant & full of surprises. This one tries to bottle that wild energy. 🌸🎨 by @vedangart

🐼 "HUNGRY PANDA’S GLOW-UP"

2020: Painted for @foodpanda_taiwan ’s office common area

2025: Promoted to the CEO’s private desk 💼

Fun fact: The geometric bamboo was designed to vibe with @sleep.travel.john’s iconic graffiti in their old space!

👉 Swipe to guess what panda is eating!

"Gilded Algorithm"
Watercolour, Foil and Acrylic on Paper
41 x 31 cm, 2025

This piece reimagines ‘Gold’ (金)—an element of strength, refinement, and abundance—through a dialogue between Kazakhstan’s ancient metalwork and modern technology. The deer (鹿, ‘lù’), a homophone for prosperity (祿) in Chinese, stands in a powerful stance, its antlers morphing from ancient Kazakh goldwork—Scythian-inspired filigree adorned with a nomadic sun motif, and a singular tribal tamga emblem fusing the Chinese character for gold (金)—into gilded circuitry. Faint silhouettes of glacial mountains, rendered in translucent watercolour washes, underscore resilience, while the flowing ‘circuit’ lines, painted to echo both traditional craftsmanship and water’s natural movement, mirror the purity of Kazakhstan’s natural springs. Here, metal is cultural heritage reimagined as a sustainable conduit for innovation.
