are you just a two-headed pile of meat on a crash course with the cosmic dump? or do you contain the sole memory of a million dead stars?

for teddy

i’ve been struggling to put everything into words but nothing seems to be getting easier so i figured it was time to spill everything out. i remember when we first picked you up. house #99 in a town i had never heard of would be pretty difficult to forget. your first years were definitely a learning experience since i had never adopted a dog before. throughout the majority of your life you retained the same spirit and energy you started with as a pup. you were always there for me in times i felt i had no one else, times i was severely struggling, and supported me as i navigated school, life, mental and chronic health struggles, etc. you brought a love, chaos and energy into our lives that we will never forget. your last few years of life you were ridden with the same anxiety and desire to isolate that you once helped me escape from. we knew it was your time, and it immensely pains me that i could not be there when you passed on. i love you, and tomoko and i miss you every day teddy. i had planned to make a post recognizing 2025 as the hardest year thus far, but the tribulations are far from over. so instead, here’s to those genuine folks that stuck around. your support for me, your desire to help those around you (wherever that may be) and the endless creativity y’all exume inspires me to keep pushing through in these difficult times. kindness always prevails. much love 💜🫶 by @vedc1n
