In honor of suicide prevention month, I wanted to give insight on how life has been for me lately.

I say the past few months I’ve been dealing with these thoughts, but in all honesty I’ve been dealing with this heavy weight for years. The moments where it gets really dark, it takes every fiber of my being to fight through it. I don’t remember a day where I haven’t felt like the world is better off without me. Its interfered with my social life, my relationships with others, and the love I have for myself. It’s only now (in these past months) where I’ve realized that I’m drained from the thoughts. My experiences, my connections, the support and love and people that I’ve gained are only here because I stayed. It’s not everyday that you hear “I love you”. But that doesn’t determine whether or not the people around you do. It’s a learning process.

Being vulnerable and sharing this is scary. I may not have all the words, but if sharing the ones that I can conjure helps at least one person to realize that being here is enough, then I’ve done what I wanted. It’s hard to say that I’m allowed to take up space, but the world deserves you. You serve a purpose, even if you haven’t figured it out yet. Maybe that purpose is the process of figuring shit out, and that is the most admirable thing you can do. Because not everyone has it figured out… I definitely don’t 😅. Give yourself grace. You are the one you have to deal with your whole life, even till the end, so take as much time as you need.
