I’ve been prolonging this post just because I refuse to admit that my tiny tiny little guy is 15 today!!! 15!!! My precious boy you’re growing up on me😭 I love you more than words could ever explain. SMART, CARING, DEDICATED, DETERMINED, LOVING , are just a few of the words that come to mind every time I think of you. Every year I say this is my favorite stage but I can truly say right now!!! Is truly an amazing ride!! From starting high school and facing adversity early on, you have never folded, you always step up and show out!! I may stay on you about ur grades and your sports but it’s only because the potential u hold is crazy!!! I know you will succeed at whatever you set your mind and heart to do!! This is a big year!! Last year before high school!! So it’s time to work!!! So proud of how he takes it all w stride!! New school w a demanding schedule, football season in full effect, and sneaking in these work outs to improve his skills for his upcoming basketball season, all while keeping those As up💪🏽 love how @student1st_athlete2nd_hoops made him sit down and really set his goals for his upcoming season and break down his game of what his strengths and weakness are and now we just work to get a little better every day!! One thing that really stands out to me when Malik starts working with someone … the first thing they always say “ his mentality is different” he isn’t afraid to ask a question and if he gets it wrong he got the next one he doesn’t let it get him down and I love that about him !!! 14!!! As much as I wish I could stop time and keep you forever my tiny little baby, this stage of life for sure has become one of my favorites. You are such a light Malik, You stay true to who you are , regardless of what may be “cool” or popular, You stay true to who you are. And that is such a testiment to the type of person I could only dream of raising, A mindful, respectful, confident, Intelligent, and responsible ( still working on that one a lil lol) young man.The teen years have been such a transition, and you have handled with it w so much poise, from still letting me smoother you w kisses and call u my stinky boy in front of your friends, to making some tough choices and sticking to your purpose and goals even though it means some sacrifices on your end. You never seize to amaze me when it comes to your work ethic and determination to always be YOUR BEST. Whether it’s in the classroom or on the basketball court or football field you always are such a team player and leader , you never fold under pressure, instead you have always risen above.Keep that confidence up stinky and never doubt yourself because you are more than able to accomplish anything you set ur mind too. Proud mama alert! My baby boy completed 3 years of honor roll averaging a 3.9 GPA all while juggling year round sports and all the extra work he puts in to be the best teammate he can, all while always being a leader and standing up for what he knows is right and never falling to the pressures that come w being a teenager and just being himself. My stinky boy had his first high school visit today. I can’t believe we are at the point of checking schools out !!! A huge huge thank you to @coach.portis for recommending Malik and allowing him the opportunity to experience it. Malik is such a hard worker and dedicated athlete. He never stops working on neither of his crafts, all while being a pretty damn good student, has stayed on honor roll all through out middle school while juggling 2 or 3 sports at a time. So when these opportunities come by I always appreciate them because I want him to see what all his hard work can and will accomplish if he stays focused. 😊 by @veenyz
