One of my guilty pleasures! Bang Bang Broccoli from Nana’s Rooted vegan truck! The food is always, hot, fresh, flavorful and oh so amazing! The DMV is so happy to have her! by @veg_gurl

Had a chance to try Red White Boneless Ramen in Manhattan! Delicious! I ordered the Red Hot Miso and boy was it hot! Cleared my sinuses, but, was well worth it. Ramen noodles are not often vegan so I typically avoid, but, with an all plant based ramen spot all bets are off. by @veg_gurl

This is what a typical hospital vending machine looks like! Junk! Pure junk! This so called health care system is designed to keep you coming! Nearly every thing in this machine ensures that non alcoholic fatty liver disease, PCOS, edema, gout, diabetes, metabolic syndrome, prostate cancer, neurodivergent disorders, hypertension, periodontal disease, erectile dysfunction, sleep apnea and kidney disease will continue to be profitable. A life time of medications, chemotherapy and hemodialysis awaits! by @veg_gurl

Perfect plant based alternative to milk every time! This was used to make a mango passionfruit chia pudding that was then topped with goji berries! by @veg_gurl

Nut based milk like beverages have become extremely profitable for some companies. It seems that every where you go a dairy free alternative is offered. Hooray for progress! However, the truth is that most of these beverages contain high amounts of sugar, inflammatory oils, starches and other unnecessary ingredients. Plant based milk like beverages are one of the easiest things to make at home. Whether you are using a plant milk maker, a high powered blender or a cost effective basic model. A mesh straining/ sifting bag, soaked nuts of choice, soaked dates, water, natural vanilla and a pinch of salt is all that is needed to make a tasty dairy free alternative to milk. For this one I used coconut flesh, macadamias and hazelnuts. It will last about 4-5 days. It can be used to make smoothies, mix with oats, chia seed pudding and desserts. by @veg_gurl

It truly saddens me to see what is served to patients in healthcare facilities! From the vending machines to the patients meals. Sugar, starch, refined carbs, juices, sodas, jello, pudding, popsicles, ice cream, hydrogenated oils, artificial sweeteners. None of this promotes healing! by @veg_gurl

Sometimes it’s as simple as braised soy free tofu on a bed of purple and green cabbage topped with an orange chili dressing for that ultimate kick! by @veg_gurl

My favorite breakfast in the whole world. Oh, how I have missed you! If you you know!! by @veg_gurl

Quality over quantity! Myth-The loss of mobility is not simply an inevitable result of aging, but, instead it has more to do with our lifestyle habits and daily choices. Here are a few tips for growing older with a higher quality of life; Strength training- resistance bands, weights and the use of your own body weight. Cardio-swimming, cycling , tennis, and walking. Flexibility -balance exercises-Yoga, Pilates,Tai Chi and daily stretching. Of course this accompanies the basics like eating a protein rich, high vegetable and fruit diet that is void of processed foods. SLEEP! I can’t stress this enough. Turn off the phone and television! Go to sleep! Follow your natural Circadian rhythm. Sleep when it is dark and awake when it is daylight! 7-9 hours of sound sleep. At least 20% of that should be REM sleep. The choice of how we grow older is ours! The onus is on us! Let’s get it in! by @veg_gurl

Lunch with my favorite gurl today! My Mom loves Ethiopian cuisine so it is likely to be her pick for our lunch dates. Whatever she wants she gets if I can help it! by @veg_gurl
