Found another great spot to camp for a cold night just outside of Taos. Murtagh's paws are much better and we're doing some real walks now with some grippy socks. He should be good to go for hikes again after a bit of a break when we get home.

We had a pretty short drive into town from camp and I got more incredible chocolate goodies but from @chokolabeantobar this go around. I'll never be in the area without stopping here!!!

Afterwards, the dogs got a fun walk in a nature park. This is largely the turnaround point as we crawl home to Utah.

*On the way out of town, I picked up some great hand painted majolica tiles for my address on my house.

Big batch of coffee I'm donating to @utahanimalrights for Salt Lake Vegfest!!! Been a bit since I've roasted since I had a catastrophic ceiling collapse in my condo over my coffee roasting area. But I'm back up and running and there will be no more water heater bursts above me from neighbors ever again🙃 I would have loved to table there as my first event but I really couldn't prep for it with all of that happening and my day job.
*The coffee is a delicious new Columbian that's a great all arounder for espresso, French press, pour over etc. A mild nuttiness with good cocoa notes.

Been ultra busy with the day job but I'm happy I got to squeeze some roasting in. This is almost the end of my Ethiopia Gedeb Worka Wuri. A delicious coffee with dark berry and marmalade notes. I also roasted a batch of Rwandan

A delicious Snix from @sweethazelandco with a salted and spiced latte made with a doubleshot of decaf(already had 2 cups of Rwandan and a cup of Kenyan). This is a great pairing!!!

Strawberry cold brew with some Nicaraguan. I definitely recommend giving this a shot. It doesn't have to be strawberries, try anything and have fun!!! Get yourself some coffee to play with @sweethazelandco
They have this coffee, Burundi and some Mexican decaf. The Burundi also makes excellent cold brew with delicious lemon notes.

Got some new toys in the mail a few days ago and I'm finally playing with them. First drink to try is a cocktail with their blood orange syrup, some homemade simple syrup, sparkling water and roughly a triple shot of half-caff with a Mexican decaf and Sumatran coffee. This may now be my favorite coffee cocktail not made with ginger beer. Can't wait to try the other syrups. The flavor is very concentrated but extremely well balanced.

Ida's trying to make sure I'm not screwing up the coffee. This is definitely a fave of mine. It has the wonderful finish of a danish.

Delicious salted and spiced latte with a double(almost a triple) shot of Sumatran. This coffee is outstanding for so many fun drinks!!!
*Salt was added to the milk while frothing. I don't have a milk steamer since I like having a manual espresso machine over an automatic/semi-automatic with steamer

Coffee cocktail time. This is a cold shot of a super fruity Ethiopian dry process coffee over sparkling water with some lime.
*Pulling cold shots is tricky but also really forgiving. You can't overextract so a bit of channelling isn't a big deal. And because of the low temperature, so you generally want to run more water through the coffee to get as much out of the beans as possible. But you can overdo it and it'll be too dilute. The foam is a lot like the head of a beer in terms of mouth feel. It's nothing like foaming cola

Burundi Rwiri Yagikawa
-a bright/acidic, lightly spicy chocolate on the front end that leaves a hit of lemon at the end.

Nicaragua Acopio Suyatal
-bittersweet chocolate followed by hazelnut/walnut notes. This is one of my best brew every way coffees.

Mexico Chiapas Teopisca Sweet Water Process Decaf
-Outstanding decaf. This coffee has a mild cocoa note at the start and leaves you with sweet cinnamon on the back end. Due to the nature of decaf, it looks like a fairly dark roast but it's not

*Plenty of great, local non-coffee things to buy here. From sweets to vegan cheese and meat!!!

Finally drinking the Rwandan Nyamasheke Gitwe I received 3 weeks ago. Sweet Assam tea notes on the front end, and some apple/pear on the back end. I wish I ordered more than 10lbs of this.
