5 reasons I regret opening my own dental clinic :

1.
I’m an excellent clinician…
but I’m not a sales or marketing person.

2.
No one prepares you
for how much of it is paperwork,
insurance files, approvals,
decisions…
and constant behind-the-scenes pressure.

3.
I take everything to heart.
Every patient. Every case.

It stays with me…
and it drains me.

4.
I don’t clock out anymore.

Even when I’m home,
my mind is still at the clinic
thinking about my patients,
my cases,
my responsibilities.

5.
Yes, I can take days off whenever I want…

but I feel guilty
every time I do.

Don’t get me wrong
I ABSOLUTELY love what I do…
just not every part of what it takes.

But I’m learning
to carry it better.

In an ideal world…
I’d just be the doctor
and let someone else handle the rest.

But until then…
