What an absolute honor to have been paid a visit today by @seniesa !! Seniesa Estrada is a professional woman’s boxer who has had 22 wins, 9KO’s, 0 losses. She is on her way to winning world boxing titles in four divisions. She currently fights for @goldenboy , @oscardelahoya ‘s team. My newest mural of her is in her hometown of El Sereno! Anytime, painting in public is special to me, but my latest portrait was definitely one for the books.

I met BALE Sisneros in 2014 at an Albuquerque body painting event I helped put together.

Not only was BALE an important pillar in the New Mexico tattoo art scene, he helped mentor many artists, built businesses and community, and had a huge impact by giving back to his city of Albuquerque.

My also incredible bro, JP Granillo curated this mural across the street from Por Vida Tattoo, where tragically BALE was murdered two years ago. It was a pleasure to paint alongside him and his cousin Jessica and bring some healing energy through this artwork.

Join us tomorrow for the official unveiling of the mural and spend some time with New Mexico’s governor, Michelle Lujan Grisham. We will also be joined by some of the actors from the Breaking Bad series, including the Salamanca Brothers, helping keep litter out of NM.

A dear friend and collector of my work has transformed her newest New Mexico Airbnb project into something more meaningful than the average rental. A duplex home divided into two themed worlds, one home rental celebrating the spirit of Frida Kahlo, the other the genius, creative mind of her husband, Diego Rivera.

The Frida home is filled with vibrant colors, floral symbolism, and the emotional brushstrokes that made her paintings immortal. A true alchemist whose face decorated the cover of Vogue Magazine at her time, and yet, her strong resilience turned her pain into beauty.

Across to the other duplex, Diego’s presence in Mexican history is impossible to ignore. Giant fresco murals story telling about the working class, magical culture, and revolution of his country. Despite his monumental accomplishments and commissions from powerful patrons, including the Rockefeller family, he always believed the messages of his art, belonged to people of all social classes.

As I painted the mural that bridges both houses, I thought about the incredible contrast between them.

As most of us know, their relationship was anything but perfect. They argued, separated, and challenged one another constantly. I like to call them, “the original toxicos.”

Yet beneath all the chaos between them, something undeniable: a shared understanding that each was witnessing a creative genius in the other.

Time after time, their love, and their artworks, brought them back together.

Together, Frida and Diego prove something beautiful, that we can turn pains and challenges, into a timeless masterpiece.

Never stop creating.

Our mural is a love letter to Chino Hills, capturing everything that makes this city ours. From the dairy cows that built its roots to the rolling hills that define its skyline, every detail tells a piece of the story. Wild poppies in full bloom, the iconic 71 freeway running through it all, and the water tower standing tall as a symbol of home.

And we had to show love to the next generation too! featuring the fierce bulldog of Ayala High School and the proud husky of Chino Hills High School 🐕
