5th grader Jace @veltaniguchi

Jace is a dawg on both sides of the court. Aggressive on the ball, hunts in the passing lanes, and can get to the rack. He has been working hard on his craft each day and it payed off. Jace uses his change of pace and a variety of footwork to score the ball. He also sprints and spaces the floor to get uncontested lays or advantage 3s. Proud of you Jace. Keep building 💪🏽

CHAMPIONSHIP GAME for our @paradiseplayershi 12U coed at @hoopnation.tournament! Most insane final minutes to secure 1st place🥇 We lost to this spectacular team the first day of the tourney 42 to 45 so we came ready! With 3 mins left, Harv shoots a middy, gets fouled, and makes his 2 FT which puts us at only 1 pt down, 19 to 20. Paradise presses and forces a turnover! Inbound play to Jace and he drives left-hand & scores💪🏽 putting us up 21 to 20. Next possession the other team has great ball movement & hits the backdoor pass then layup putting them up 21 to 22. Our Paradise girls, Abby & Koru, show how tough they are and both get fouled! Harvey drives and hits a euro, ref calls travel (our parents don’t like the call lol), but our Paradise coaches always teach our keiki to play on and keep their head in the game, so they DO! With less than 45 seconds left, other team is trying to run the clock because they are up by 1pt! Paradise is putting up a great fight and trying to foul but finally alas, Jace comes up with the STEAL! He’s racing down court and misses his layup and is utterly devastated! Ball is knocked out of bounds by the other team so still Paradise ball 🫨 All of us parents are supporting from the side, encouraging Jace to keep his head in the game because we don’t get possession without his steal! Our coaches call timeout and Jace’s teammates are patting him on the back and telling him no worries, next play mentality!!! Timeout ends and Harvey gets the ball with just seconds left and hits a TOUGH middy! Paradise goes up 23 to 22🙌🏽 Other team calls timeout, and Jace is jumping & screaming knowing his boy Harv got his back!!! There’s 6 seconds left and Paradise plays great defense, no fouls on 2 contested shots! We take home GOLD! I am so floored by the resilience by ALL of our Paradise teams last weekend 🤍🩵 My heart is so full to see how much love & support all of our keiki have from our Paradise coaches, parents, uncles, aunties, siblings, and above all else their own teammates! To reiterate what my Ala sister, Lindsey, said in our Paradise group chat, these Paradise Players don’t play for rings or championships, they play for EACH OTHER! by @veltaniguchi

Jace in 2024, 2025, and finally last night in 2026! I made this for him so he can remind himself that progress doesn’t happen overnight and when you stack days, they turn into weeks then months then years of continued improvement. I’m sooo proud of how far Jace has come in basketball. He works so hard to challenge himself & continuously reach for his next goal. Keep growing Jace & dream big 🩵🤍 by @veltaniguchi

Today was Jace’s last day of 6th grade 🥹 So proud of him and all of his accomplishments so far. Wanted to take a moment to reflect on his journey throughout the years at WJNS. I don’t have the right words to say just how thankful we are to have had WJNS as a second home to our Ohana. So unbelievably grateful and blessed for all the Kumu who have supported, believed, and loved our Jace for the last 9 years. The most special thank you to our Po’o Kumu, Mrs. Ah Chong, who has shown Jace unwavering support and love, and has helped guide him to be the young man he is. We can’t express how much love our family has for EVERY single teacher at WJNS. It amazes me that from Preschool 3s to 6th grade, every teacher has given him the exact care, love, and support that every parent dreams of for their keiki at school. We are forever grateful & are so proud to be WJNS Alumni. If you are looking for a preschool or elementary school, please give WJNS a try - this community is one of the most genuine places for your keiki to learn & thrive. We are so extremely proud of Jace as he starts his next chapter at Kamehameha Schools as 7th grader. He has worked so hard and dedicated himself to be the best version of himself that he could possibly be. He set a goal to apply for Kamehameha and Punahou this year, worked tirelessly in academics while balancing sports, and just reminded himself to DREAM BIG. Feeling blessed is an understatement as he was accepted into both schools, but his heart was always set on Kamehameha 💙 So proud of you Jace!!!! May your ambition and ability to strive for greatness continue in this next season of life. You are one of the hardest working kids I know & I hope you continue to reach for any goal, no matter how high and how big. As Mrs. Ah Chong said, no cliff is too tall that cannot be scaled. Happy Birthday to this guy 💙🩵 I am so incredibly grateful for you Bronson. I have honest to God never met anyone more hard working and unwavering than you. You have shown me and Jace time and time again how much you love our family with your actions - I literally can’t explain how hard this man works and doesn’t complain, doesn’t make excuses, and just shows up. Life is hard? He shows up. Life is messy? He’s there. When life around you feels like it’s crumbling down? He is right there with his Makita tools ready to fix it. Bronson and I both had to dig deep and do a lot of growing up together for the last decade and honestly looking back, I wouldn’t have wanted to do it with anyone else. Thank you for being our rock. Thank you for showing Jace how to work hard & believe in himself. And most of all, thank you for the million laughs we’ve had along the way. Although the walls of our home have heard crying, nagging, and yelling from all 3 of us, the thing it’s heard THE most is laughter. Jace had a game at 10am, only 5 players and no subs, and then asks to go the park to shoot around 🤣 This kid is nuts but also cracks me up with his dance moves! At least it’s practice in paradise ☀️ by @veltaniguchi
