Introducing Vendeli’s Product of the Month! ✨

A big part of what we’re trying to do at Vendeli is support brilliant independent businesses and give them the spotlight they deserve.

So each month, we’ll be sharing one of our favourite products, celebrating the people behind it and telling you why we love it.

First up, something very special from East London. 👀

Meet our first Product of the Month: @doreensrumcakes ! 🍰

One of the best things about working with spaces like @general.people in Stratford is discovering the brilliant independent businesses working alongside us.

That's exactly how we came across Doreen's Rum Cakes.

We tried one, absolutely loved it, and decided to stock them in our machine. They sold out almost immediately!

There's something particularly special about stocking products made by people in the very same building.

A big shoutout to @general.people for bringing together such a great community of independent businesses. ❤️

Why we love it. ❤️

There's a beautiful story behind @doreensrumcakes

Founder Jackie Christian started the business in memory of her mum, Doreen, who brought her family's Jamaican rum cake recipe to London over 30 years ago.

Jackie trained as a chef from just 17, working under Gordon Ramsay and in some of London's top kitchens, including L'Escargot in Soho.

After losing her mum, Jackie decided to carry on her legacy, turning the family recipe into the wonderful business it is today, alongside her sister Natalie.

It's more than just a delicious rum cake. It's a family story, a tribute to her mum and a brilliant example of the independent businesses we love to support.

Exactly what Vendeli is all about. ❤️
