RFID BANK... A case of reinventing the wheel.
I wanted to have an easy way to make backup copies of RFID access cards and fobs, so I put together the smallest device I could, complete with OLED display, battery, capacitive touch buttons and a nice menu to read, write and manage stored cards.
As soon as I completed the prototype and started testing it with any RFID item I could get my hands on, I found that nearly all cell phones already have that capability built in!
It's only a matter of installing an app from NXP or some 3rd party, and it does a lot more than my device can do with it's little screen.
I would have saved a lot of time if I had looked into what existing solutions are available, but I learned a lot about RFID and it was fun to put it all together so it was worth it 😊 by @veniceinventors

Repurposing my neighbors' vapes (electronic cigarettes).
These would have ended in a landfill as the smoke shops selling them don't have a recycling program and there is no consignment/deposit value like there is for some glass bottles, yet they contain a useful and perfectly good Li-Ion battery and USB battery charger, some even have a display showing the battery charge level, but since the liquid inside is non-refillable, the battery is only cycled a few times, even though it can last at least 500 cycles.
They can easily be turned into flashlights, toys and gadgets, or power small electronic devices. by @veniceinventors

Got a new spool of filament for the 3D printer but it didn't fit. The holder isn't wide enough.
Luckily I had all the parts needed to make an adjustable spool adapter.
So if you have a Winbo printer, that's one way you can use it with 1kg spools.
An added benefits is that the spools spin better without the friction from rubbing against the plastic hanger.
I used screen door wheels as they have a groove, they're cheap, and also work great as pulleys with ropes up to 5mm. by @veniceinventors

Visualizing the magnetic field with magnetic viewing film.
Couldn't find any film with different colors for North and South field polarities, such a film would be really cool. by @veniceinventors

First attempt at making a monopole magnetic sphere.
All south poles are facing outward.
Glueing the magnets any closer is almost impossible as the field gets so strong that the surrounding magnets start to pop out of the (dry) glue.
A different way of holding the magnets in place will be needed, maybe a 3D-printed scaffolding? by @veniceinventors
