A few years ago, the industry strikes forced me to shut down Lenz Rental and Lenz Studio. It was one of the hardest decisions of my life. I stopped everything, locked myself in my basement, and asked myself... what's next?

Out of that season of reflection came an idea, Venture For Guyana.

I told myself it was time to return to my homeland and contribute to its economic development. I’ve built many companies throughout my career, but this one is different. This one is being built with purpose, love, and a deep sense of responsibility. It is driven by a much bigger WHY.

I left Guyana at 14 and hadn't been back since. When I landed on January 2, 2026, I had a vision but no network.

So I showed up to the Guyana Energy Conference & Supply Chain Expo, and talked to nearly 100 people in four days, telling myself; "I only need one person to see the vision."

Then I met Mr. @seshsukhdeo. From our first conversation, our visions aligned, and what started as a conversation became a partnership that accelerated my journey by years.

On June 18th 2026, that partnership produced our first major events. The Global Growth & Commerce Summit and the launch of the AI, Blockchain & Cybersecurity Alliance. The energy, the feedback, the people who flew in to explore real investment in Guyana, it was everything. The events were a tremendous success.

We were honored to hear from a powerhouse lineup of industry leaders:

Kris Sammy (CEO & Chairman, Excel Guyana): Shared vital lessons learned along the Excel growth trajectory, emphasizing the importance of developing internal leadership and leveraging international experience to engage effectively with investors and growth markets.

Kristine Thompson (CEO, Rise Guyana): Highlighted the critical need for an enhanced understanding of systems to ensure efficient investment flows, noting that high-impact opportunities are abundant across every single sector.

Insights from the Global Growth and Commerce Summit.

The momentum from the Global Growth and Commerce Summit is still being felt across Georgetown. It was a privilege to hear from Gerry Gouveia, who challenged us to look at commerce through a wider lens, not as a single track, but as a multi-faceted engine driving our nation forward.

Mr. Gouveia’s message to the private sector was clear and urgent: to keep pace with the current speed of change, we must innovate across the board.

We are on a growth trajectory that is truly beyond imagination. Mr. Gouveia drew a compelling parallel to Dubai’s evolution from a fishing town to a global hub, illustrating the massive scale of possibility awaiting us here in Guyana.

True transformation won’t happen in isolation. We need businesses across every single sector to lean in, engage, and take ownership of the opportunities unfolding before us.

We need leaders who can think at scale, adapt to rapid change, and foster the collaborative environments necessary to sustain this momentum.

Highlights from the Global Growth and Commerce Summit.

We were honored to participate in the Global Growth and Commerce Summit this past Thursday in Georgetown. A sincere thank you to our hosts, @weggonallen and @seshsukhdeo, for curating a platform that perfectly balanced innovation with actionable collaboration.

The event brought together an impressive mix of investors, entrepreneurs, and business leaders, proving that when the right people share the right conversations, real traction follows.

A standout moment was hearing from Rosalinda Rasul, Head of the Diaspora Affairs Unit at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, who provided a compelling roadmap for the Diaspora’s role in our collective growth.
