Another critical technology powering the next generation of lunar rovers? The Battery Management System (BMS), already onboard MONA LUNA!

Developed by Venturi Space’s Toulouse-based teams, the BMS is embedded within the lunar battery and continuously monitors the health, status, and temperature of each cell, adjusting energy delivery in real time. Every 10 milliseconds, voltage is tracked alongside multiple thermal data points to ensure optimal performance, safety, and longevity.

More than just a control system, the BMS acts as a vital safeguard, protecting the battery from degradation in one of the harshest environments. At the Moon’s South Pole, where night lasts up to 14 Earth days and temperatures range from -240°C to +130°C, the BMS plays a decisive role in managing both energy and thermal conditions, ensuring the rover’s survival.

At Choose France, the summit dedicated to France’s economic attractiveness, Venturi Space announced a €250 million investment in France to establish its new 16,000 sq m technology centre in Toulouse. The site will be dedicated to the design and manufacture of critical technologies for lunar and Martian mobility, as well as to the assembly of the rovers developed by the company.

As Martian Year 39 begins, the Red Planet invites us to imagine the journeys still to come.
Among those possibilities is a Martian adaptation of FLEX, envisioned by Venturi @astrolab.space, which would incorporate @venturi.space’s batteries and hyper-deformable wheels.
Drawing on the lunar FLEX architecture, this rover concept could support scientific and logistics missions. It would combine autonomous mobility with an integrated drilling and prospecting system intended to locate and extract water beneath the Martian surface.

Fin de mission au Sommet International sur l’Espace.

Deux journées à Paris où j’ai pris beaucoup de plaisir à échanger autour d’une même énergie : continuer à faire grandir l’écosystème spatial.

Il y a toujours quelque chose de particulier dans ces moments où scientifiques, industriels, institutions et astronautes se retrouvent autour d’une ambition commune.

Après toutes ces années dans le spatial, j’y reste toujours aussi sensible. Ils nous rappellent que l’exploration ne repose jamais sur une seule personne, une seule technologie ou un seul pays.

Elle se construit collectivement, étape après étape, avec de la vision, de la patience et beaucoup d’engagement.

En tant qu’ambassadeur de @venturi.space, ce Sommet avait aussi pour moi une saveur singulière.

Aux côtés de Gildo Pastor, Président de Venturi Space et d’Antonio Delfino, Directeur de Venturi Space, nous avons présenté ALTA LUNA au Président de la République @emmanuelmacron et à @phbaptiste, ministre de l’Enseignement supérieur, de la Recherche et de l’Espace.
