Charcoal and graphite sketch

Soul behind the sketch:

For me figure drawing is not about lines and shades, they are more about portraying the soul, the deep underlying emotions that resonate with me, that powerful feelings give a piece, true life and meaning.

The sketch is inspired by "Madonnia"(popularly known as Madonna of the streets) a famous painting by the Italian artist Roberto Ferruzzi. While the original painting was not initially intended to be a religious piece, it became world famous as a deeply human representation of Virgin Mary and infant Jesus.
