SEQ_1 is on view (and playable by you) at part 1 of 20 Years of MOCAD: A Practice of Multiplicity WED 09.09 @themobilehomestead Listen to what is born of the choices that you make. Alter the speed of the entire system (macro) using the “velocity” knob (bottom left). Alter each individual note of the sequence using the knobs with alternating lights (micro).

SEQ_1 is an exploration of our willingness to shift what frequencies surround us and our power, on an individual level, to influence change. It’s also just an exposed 8-step sequencer 🤷🏽‍♀️

I had the pleasure of working with Marwa to produce 𝘓𝘪𝘣𝘦𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘋𝘢𝘺𝘥𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘮𝘴, the first track on a new multi-genre compilation, called
𝘚𝘰𝘭𝘪 𝘛𝘶𝘯𝘦𝘴. It is now available exclusively on @yourmomsberlin Bandcamp. Please share and support!

All proceeds from this comp were donated to @thepalestinemusicspace by @venusloc

Hey ya’ll, It’s My Birthday! 🥳 It would mean the world to me if you used the link in my bio to purchase 𝘈 𝘉𝘦𝘢𝘶𝘵𝘪𝘧𝘶𝘭 𝘋𝘢𝘺 𝘐𝘯 𝘔𝘺 𝘐𝘮𝘢𝘨𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯, a chapbook that I & @yazan._.mohammd have created together. This book is filled with beautiful poems written by Yazan, a young Palestinian poet living in Gaza City, and the cover was illustrated by me.

ALL proceeds from the purchase of this work go directly to Yazan to support him and his family with basic everyday needs. Please share this post as far as possible! Currently we are only shipping within the U.S. Thanks for all of your support! ❤️ by @venusloc

DiscoTech Stations Reveal Part Two
OCTOBER 17th, 12 to 4pm @ the LOVE Building
4731 Grand River Ave, Detroit MI

There are still so many brilliant community technologists to spotlight that will be sonically activating the DiscoTech with us this Saturday. There are three emergent themes we will be exploring more this weekend: 1- Networks, Devices, and Infrastructures, 2- Sound and music technologies, and 3- Technological Material Interfaces.

Sound and Music Technologies have stayed on the hearts of people in media, design, and tech spaces in Detroit. The history, present, and future runs deep when we talk about music and sound in this city; naturally, people have questions, interests, curiosities. We want to demystify some of the tech that makes our sonic environments throughout this city and others. Sound systems, Spatial Sound, Synths, Designing instruments and collaborative music-making processes - we have it all this weekend.

DiscoTech party-goers will have a chance to learn from @angelfoodsystem about setting up a sound stack, from @otodojo about spatializing sound, from @kamaubaaqi_ about digital instruments, and from @venusloc about DIY hardware like oscillators and synths.

The sound will be going this weekend. Stay tuned to hear more of what you can learn at DiscoTech. by @venusloc
