🕯️ How to Make Your Candle Last Longer

Want to enjoy your favourite candle for longer and get the best scent experience? Follow these simple tips! ✨

🔥 1. The first burn matters.
Let your candle burn for approximately 2–3 hours, or until the entire surface of the wax has melted. This helps prevent tunnelling and ensures an even burn.

✂️ 2. Trim the wick.
Before each use, trim the wick to about 3–5 mm. This helps reduce soot, excessive flames, and uneven burning.

⏳ 3. Limit burning time.
Avoid burning your candle for more than 2–3 hours at a time, or longer than the manufacturer’s recommended limit. This helps prevent overheating and keeps your candle burning properly.

🕯️ 4. Extinguish it gently.
Use a candle snuffer or follow the manufacturer’s recommended extinguishing method. Avoid blowing out the flame if possible, as it can create smoke and an unpleasant smell.

🏡 5. Choose the right spot.
Place your candle on a stable, heat-resistant surface, away from drafts, air conditioners, open windows, and anything flammable. Never leave a burning candle unattended.

Why is your candle smoking? ✨

In most cases, the reason is simple: the wick is too long. 🙌

A long wick soaks up more wax than it needs, the flame gets big and unstable — and you get black smoke and soot marks on the jar (or the wall ☠️).

For a clean, beautiful burn:
🕯️ Trim the wick to about 5 mm before every lighting ✂️
🕯️ Keep your candle away from wind and drafts
🕯️ On the first burn, let the whole surface melt completely

Your candle will last longer — and burn calm and smoke-free ✨

Want to learn more about candle making? Come to our candle-making course — a new group starts November 8, Sundays at 12 PM. Link in bio 💌
