Last fall @alexproba asked @chrisszly and me if we want to work on the campaign for her Hoka collaboration. For the kids shoe we needed 2 photos on a NYC playground which I ended up taking myself. Witnessing the friendship between Ella & Agnes was my highlight 🩷 Also, go get Proba’s Hokas now! by @verenschka

Earlier last week one of our latest projects launched. Over a year in the making, and we couldn’t be happier to share the work we did with the incredible team at @algaecookingclub. Brand Identity, Packaging and Art Direction for ACC, earth’s purest chef-grade cooking oil.

Four years ago, we teamed up with our friends and former officemates at @offhours.co to release a limited edition @gossamer version of their Homecoat. We spent months working on our collaboration, a green-on-green color way called The Dogwalker. @verenschka carefully chose the fabrics, shades, and placements, and designed hand-stitched interior labels featuring embroidered versions of our magazine covers and the @gossamer tagline, “For people who also smoke weed.” We worked with our wonderful, generous, and talented friends @caitoppermann and @jarodtaber on creative, and even tapped pups from our community to star in the campaign, with a little visit to @casamagazinesnyc included. The first run sold out, so we brought it back for a second time in 2021. That run also sold out. This year, @houseplant, a venture-backed cannabis brand founded by @sethrogen released their “Housecoat,” and it looks suspiciously similar, not just in color, but also @offhours.co’s original design—right down to the pocket placements and belt. We’ve supported @houseplant in the past—recommending their products in the @gossamer newsletter and elsewhere. We’re not competitive. We’ve been knocked off before, but never this egregiously and never by someone with both a platform and resources that are so much bigger than ours. Imitation can be a sincere form of flattery, but it can also seriously hurt a business. Do better, @sethrogen and @houseplant. There’s plenty of creativity to go around. by @verenschka
