✮✶✨ Congratulations Vernando (@vernandoreuben ) on completing your final Pit Crit this fall! ✨✶✮

“My name is Vernando Reuben. I’m a Jamaican-born artist 2nd year painter whose practice centers diasporic cultural performance, particularly within the Black Atlantic and through a queer Caribbean lens. I make visual art that explores intimacy and desire, and increasingly, from a place of quiet refusal and deliberate opacity.” taken in Yale School of Art by @vernandoreuben

A year of change, growth and new thangs! I can’t give enough thanks to all who made this possible: the cohort, faculty, staff, and visiting artists, and the wider village community of friends and family that believe in me and my dreams. taken in Yale School of Art by @vernandoreuben

Wow! What a year it’s been! A year of extreme loss and gain—of new beginnings. Yale, Year One. I’d like to thank all friends and fam, faculty, cohort, and mentors—that larger global village and body of ancestral spirits —in making this possible. For your guidance and support, for the love and the laughs💥 taken in Yale School of Art by @vernandoreuben
