🖼️ Robot barn owl in a dystopian future. School’s art homework.
🗓️ October 2014 (15 years old).
🖌️ Colouring pencil.
.
We were given 2 lists of random words, pick 1 word from each list, combine them, & draw it out. I picked “robot” & “owl”, probably inspired by movies Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole (which introduced me to the cuteness of barn owls!!!) & Hunger Games 2 (which introduced me to the concept of dystopia).
.
This piece used many references of owls, gears, & how light reflects off metal surfaces, plus some storytelling of the owl having a blue beating heart & blue eyes that contrasts the flames in the background.

🖼️ Gibson SG Standard 50’s Silverburst. Cover design for school’s art sketchbook.
🗓️ September 2014 (15 years old).
🖌️ Light blue cardstock, pantel poster colour, Stabilo felt-tip pen 68 gold, white fineliner, white marker, mechanical pencil.
.
The blue card stock & icicles was to match the ice fjords used in Chen’s portrait in yesterday’s post, since both were used for the same sketchbook.
