This weekend, I pretended to be a flower at The Huntington Library. 🌸 🌺 🌹.

We decided to stay local this weekend. I can’t believe this place is literally only a 5 minute drive from our home (if you don’t get lost, that is). It’s absolutely gorgeous, well kept, and very vast. Honestly, a half day visit wasn’t enough.

Huntington Library has all types of plants, flowers, and herbs from all over the world. The gardens are separated based on regions and plant type. For example, they have a Japanese garden with an array of bonsais. If you go over to the desert garden, you will see spiky cacti of all shapes and sizes. The Chinese garden, a new addition to the complex, has tranquil architecture and ponds to help you relax. They also have Australian gardens, rose gardens, lily ponds, herb gardens, and the list goes on! My favorites were the desert garden and the Chinese garden.

I’m shocked it took so long for me to see this beautiful place, but I’m definitely coming back!! Hopefully I can come in the spring when everything is in full bloom, loaded with ~plenty~ of Claritin :).

🛼 Rolled into the sunset at Venice Beach this weekend 🛼🛼🌅.

Since LA was in the high 80s/low 90s this weekend, @tayste5000 and I decided to cool off at the beach. We rented some skates and rolled our way through the beach during Golden Hour. It was super serene, and seeing the sunset as we were skating was beautiful.

Now that it gets dark so early now, the one perk is that we don’t have to wait long to see the stunning sunsets. 😍☀️

🌧 When it rains, it pours. 🌧

It literally pours in Costa Rica when it rains, especially when you visit during the wet season. We had plans to visit Manuel Antonio National Park, but the tickets were all sold out and it was pouring buckets.

After a certain amount of time in my rain jacket, both the inner lining of my jacket and my shorts were drenched so I gave up trying to fight it. Being on the beach in a rain storm was an interesting experience as I was surrounded by water falling from the sky and water rushing beneath my feet. At least the beach was absolutely beautiful.

After giving up trying to be dry, it was honestly just kind of fun to play in the rain. Have you visited a country during its wet season? What was your experience?

Everyone stops in Zion but with a hop and a skip, you could visit this amazing candy-cane striped landscape in Utah!

📍 Yant Flat (Candy Cliffs), Utah.

Keep in mind that this will need a high clearance vehicle, and the trail is quite exposed. It’s a short hike but it can get very hot, so make sure to pack your water.

Always wanted to see #Haka in real life, and finally got to see it in #Rotorua.

I’d definitely recommend going to the shows that are scheduled, because you can go stuff your face with #Māori food, watch the Haka performance, AND see some glow worms all in one go. 10/10, would do again.

Found some Veronica-sized homes in New Zealand at Hobbiton!

Visited the real life Shire set from Lord of the Rings back in April, and it was incredibly impressive. Would recommend visiting, even if you’re not a huge LoTR fan.
