I realized I left my blush at home while in New York City in October. Not ideal when you KNOW you're about to be in a million pictures. So I did what any sane person does in NYC... walked half a block and found a Sephora. Because there is literally one on every corner.

I went BOLD and grabbed the rhode Pocket Blush in Sun Soak, described as spiced orange. First time trying rhode. No pressure. Just me, a spontaneous Sephora run, and all of NYC as my backdrop.

Here is my honest take.

IT'S BUILDABLE AND I MEAN THAT.

One swipe gives you a soft natural flush. Build it up and you get full glowy cheeks. Super creamy but never heavy. You are completely in control.

NOW LEARN FROM MY MISTAKES.

I dabbed it straight onto my cheeks. Do NOT do this. I looked like something from the deep ocean had latched onto my face. 🐙 Full tentacle-sucker situation. The right move is to dab a little onto the back of your hand, grab your brush, and THEN apply. (note to self: watch Hailey's video on how to apply it first lol)

NOW HERE IS WHAT I DID NOT EXPECT.

I picked Sun Soak specifically because it was fall and I wanted that bold spiced orange moment on my cheeks. Burnt orange, terracotta vibes, the whole thing. I mean I love the color so much my bridesmaids wore terracotta at my wedding. So this shade felt like it was made for me.

In the tube it looks fully orange. On a swatch? Still orange. I was ready.

And then on my medium tan skin with primer, foundation, bronzer, and setting powder underneath... it just became a warm flush. Beautiful, yes. But the orange? Gone. Completely absorbed into my base. I think all those layers underneath just swallowed the pigment? Or is this my color theory canceling it? IDK

I drove to three stores for a lip balm and I would do it again. 😭🌸

#gifted I've been telling people about micellar water for years and I genuinely mean it every single time. 🩵

Garnier was kind enough to replenish me with their waterproof formula, and I've been using it every night since it arrived.

The blue cap is the one you want if you wear waterproof mascara (I do daily because of oily eyelids!). It's fragrance-free, paraben-free, sulfate-free, and sensitive skin approved. I got a travel one for the road, of course! The 13.5 oz bottle lasts forever too, which I appreciate.

#gifted My skin has been on a spa trip and it didn't even have to pack a bag. 💼

Arencia sent over their double-cleansing duo plus a Vitamin C Booster Shot 🍊 and I've been using all three this past week as first impressions. The vibe? Clean, fresh, and genuinely relaxing every single time.

The Pore Melt Cleansing Oil goes on first and just... melts everything off. Makeup, sunscreen, the day. It emulsifies so nicely and it doesn't leave that heavy oil residue I hate.

Then the Fresh Green Rice Mochi Cleanser follows up, and okay, the texture genuinely surprised me. It's almost grainy? In a satisfying way. It lathered up soft and foamy but you can feel the rice doing something. Smelled incredible. Like if a spa had a skincare line.

The Vitamin C Booster Shot (also doubles as face cream BTW) rounds it out as the last step and my skin looked noticeably brighter the next morning. Jury's still out on long-term results but first impressions are strong.

Meal prepping just hits different when your containers are this satisfying to pack. 🍱

I've been using the Bentgo Prep containers for a few weeks now and honestly the organization factor alone is worth it. The 1-compartment trays are great for single-item meals like rice bowls or pasta, and the 2-compartment snack containers are perfect for keeping things separate without needing multiple bags or boxes.

BPA-free, microwave and dishwasher safe, and they stack so neatly in the fridge. The lids have a custom fit so nothing is sliding around or popping open in your bag.

I went with three different styles because I use them for different things, and having color-coded options genuinely helps me stay organized through the week.

New York will always have our hearts, but honestly, it has our stomachs first.

We ate our way through the city last month and I'm still thinking about every single bite. Here's what made the list:

LOS TACOS NO. 1 🌮 — juicy, street-style tacos. Line moves fast, spice level does not play around. Ryan approved.

KATZ'S DELI 🥩 — Ryan's birthday wish. He wanted the full When Harry Met Sally moment and the brisket delivered. Bring cash for tips, bring patience for the crowd.

BROAD NOSH BAGELS 🥯 — the garlic bagel was a little over-toasted for me, but the plain with mango cream cheese? I have nothing bad to say.

NORMA'S 🍕 — our second visit and we are still not over this pizza. At this point it's a tradition.

AUX MERVEILLEUX 🥐 — meringue pastries that I first tried here and have now chased all the way to Paris. Still blown away both times.

EATALY 🍫 — I only got the cannoli but it had a chocolate shell and that was enough for me.

DIN TAI FUNG 🥟 — first visit, not our last. The chocolate xiao long bao with sea salt cream is something I think about more than I should.

MAX'S RESTAURANT 🇵🇭 — I'm Filipino. A week without Filipino food is not something I'm willing to do. Max's is always the answer.

Sped it up so it looks like I have my life together. In reality this took way longer but the brushes are clean and that's what matters.

Been using the EcoTools brush shampoo and honestly it does the job without any fuss. My Real Techniques brushes and a few others all came out looking fresh.

After the show, we waited at the stage door.

Dan came out, took photos, signed things. He signed my coat belt. We got our selfie. I held it together, mostly... 😅

I have loved this man since I was a kid watching Harry Potter for the first time. Seeing him now, as an adult, doing something this vulnerable and this good on stage, and then standing in front of me like a normal person who signs coat belts? That is a lot to process on a NYC sidewalk.

We did not just see Every Brilliant Thing @brilliantbway at the Hudson Theatre. We saw it from the stage.

Stage seats are available for this show, and we got them. That means for the entire performance, Daniel Radcliffe was doing his thing maybe ten feet from us. I shook his hand. I volunteered my coat for a scene. I was on a Broadway stage while one of the best performances I have ever seen happened around me.

I did not fully understand what I had bought until I was already sitting in it. And then we waited for him at the stage door after.

I wore the @glamnetic Seaspell set for my entire two-week trip to Japan. Trains, luggage, full days out, humid weather. I even packed an emergency nail kit just in case. Never opened it once.

Short almond shape, soft pink with a velvet shimmer finish. Simple but so pretty. Classy without getting in the way of anything.

I switch out my nails about twice a month and I've tried other brands, but I keep coming back. The cost, the application time, the durability, the look. It just makes sense every single time.
