Hughes, an renowned British Historian, author, broadcaster, showcases her signature talent for bringing the ancient world 🌎 vividly to life 🧬
This book 📚📖🏺👼🥰🪉💘 greets readers with warmth and wit, inviting them into history s embrace rather than holding at arm's length with academic formality
💘🪉 Aphrodite often drifts through the background, especially in tales of Helen Of Troy, quietly weaving destinies from the shadows with subtle, irresistible touch

April Reading Week 4
🚨 Don't attempt to read 😋🥴📚🤯 on an empty stomach☺️🍚🧈🍜🫶
Fabulous translation by Polly Barton (another very good writer ☺️📚)

🧈Butter by Asako Yuzuki

🍚The delicious cult Japanese bestseller
🧈A female gourmet cook and serial killer
🍚The journalist Rika, intent on cracking the case
@yuzukiasako novel is inspired by a true story & the way the media portrayed the accused🍜🥢🐮

🧈Manako Kajii, a gourmet cook, is in Tokyo Detention Centre, found guilty of killing lonely businessmen she is said to have attracted with her tasty home cooking.
🧈 The case has caught the nation’s attention, but Kajii won’t talk to the press or see visitors.
🧈That changes when journalist Rika Machida sends her a letter asking for her beef stew recipe, and Kajii can’t help reply🧈🍚
