This week we will say goodbye to my grandmother, Elena Magallan.

She went viral on a few videos I created of her cheering on the Spurs and featured on social media by @sanantoniospurs, @saliveksat, @saexpressnews, @univisionsatx, @espncfb, and many others. She was a grandmother to many, related or not. She was full of joy and it was contagious. She had a way of making everyone feel special. She always withheld judgment and gave complete, unconditional love.

My grandma Elena thoroughly enjoyed all the love and attention she received over the last weeks of the 2026 Spurs playoffs. I read many of the comments to her. She got a kick out of them. It meant a lot to her, me, and our family. She really experienced such a high in her final months of life. What an incredible life she lived.

Our 4th of July weeklong celebration is in the books for 2026. It is always such a great time with Ellis's family. Thank you to the Dickinsons and Stollers for being the best hosts. We love you all. Thanks to my kids for sharing me with Ellis and his babies. taken in Okoboji, Iowa by @veronicashrode

@lau_v_lop and @davidrojastd with @univisionsatx did such a great job capturing my experience cheering on @spurs and @wemby with my grandma. My cousins and mom joined us for the last game and taping. The Spurs had such a great season. We are so proud. God willing, we will be cheering our Spurs next year. Go Spurs Go!

This video belongs to Univision. Thank you sharing with us. #spursnation #sanantonio #nbafinals2026 #spurs #spursgrandmas taken in San Antonio, Texas by @veronicashrode

I drove from Houston to San antonio to Austin in one day. Picked up some Spurs treats and decor. I had to stop by Grandma's to light more candles. We need all the luck for tonight. We celebrated Owen's 10th birthday this weekend. He is such a handsome and sweet boy. A great ball player. I swear it feels like his mom was just 10 years old. 😭Glad we had the rink to ourselves. Less chance for me to break a hip. #grandson1 #10years taken in Alvin Skate -N- Party by @veronicashrode
