I wasn't ready You didn't want to go But your body broke under the pressure And now as I stand here empty, except for the crumbled heart of mine that disintegrates with every tear, I'm left asking Who will leave puddles of slobbery water on my kitchen floor? Who will nearly send me the hospital from elated joy explosion when I return home? Who will care for the baby goats and other animals with a mother's tender loving care? Who will paint my clean clothes with eye boogers and fur glitter every morning? Who will vacuum up every crumb that is dropped within a mile? Who will ride shotgun for miles & miles with a smile? Who will clear a room of unwanted guests with one rotten egg burst of flatulence? Who will steal away the pillows for the utmost royal comfort? Who will cradle their head in my neck in the morning to delay the day? Who will cuddle with me and let me know everything's okay? My head knows that the love was bountiful, The memories will florish, and you are waiting at the rainbow bridge for me But heart just can't believe You're no longer here Serenity "Renny" Hanlon passed away Tuesday September 15th 2026 very unexpectedly overnight. This was a huge shock as she had always been the epitome of health under the constant watchful vet tech eye of me. She was rescued from a large breeding facility that no longer wanted her at the young age of 3. She saw me through the difficulties of working the pandemic, my first apartment, my first house, my first brand new car, my tragic fire, health crises, tumultuous job duties, and multiple animals coming into her house. She was the smartest dog I've ever met both as a vet tech and dog owner but also the most high end diva and champion eater. She was my beauty queen, cuddle bug, and my ride or die. She brought such excitement, humor, joy and love into my life when I needed it the most. While my heart is shattered, I am forever grateful for every single second she was in my life and I can't wait to see her again someday. I love you Renny 🩷 by @verticait
