Working with Nicholas from @fullcircleghee was such a pleasure. His ghee product is a project and business he is carefully shepherding with all the elements thoroughly thought out, in line with his intention, fully honoring the land and animals that it comes from. 10 years ago I pivoted from a career path in film editing to graphic design. I knew I wanted to be creative everyday, and I knew I always enjoyed keeping track of design trends, typography, color, shapes, textures, photography, framing, perspective... the elements of design. I trained myself and built up a group of clients that I love working with over the years. Businesses I’m excited to hear from and create for. I had peaks and valleys as my business and skill grew in fits and starts. My first calls representing myself and my company were terrifying. Now, I love talking with first time clients. It is exhilarating to suss them out, get them talking about their ideas and concept, and then work to create for that.

Today I’m taking another big step and moving beyond my little work space in my apartment to a brick and mortar storefront here in Ocean Beach. I’m terrified again, but also so excited to grow and evolve again.

That is only the first part though... Vervor will also include a little store that will have works from local artists and craftspeople. I’ll also be curating work from artists I love from around the country and doing my best to convince them to have a couple prints here so people can know about and find them in San Diego. Over the next couple weeks we will be building the space and it’s contents into a really special place to stop in and see what’s what. In this way, I’m able to tap into another passion of mine which is supporting artists and their talents, style, and work. I don’t consider myself a pure artist - I tend to be more of a facilitator and integrator, and this lets me express that.

So, stop on in! Give us about a month to rev up the store side before you come hunting for that killer print or awesome crafty piece you need for a special someone. Maybe we will also do a socially distanced grand opening too once we’re ready. Onward and upward!
